Jesus said when you fast

Matthew 6:16
Why is fasting even something we should do?
I heard someone say something about fasting that really made since to me.
Fasting will humble you, and God give grace to the humble.
James 4:6 NLT
6 And he gives grace generously. As the Scriptures say, “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.”
God never said he would give you grace when you need it, he said he give grace to the humble.
God never said he would give you grace when you need it, he said he give grace to the humble.
So when I fast I am humbling myself before our Father.

Fasting Puts our Focus on the Father

The commandments tell us that we should have no other Gods before Him!
Fasting gives us the opportunity to look within ourselves to see if we have put anything in the place where God should be.

Fasting Removes Voices Out of Our Head

When we fast we hearing his voice and removing other voices in our head.
Many of us have a lot of voices speaking to us friends, TV, music, news, opinion pieces. The most important voice we can have is the voice of our Father. He speaks to us through the Holy Spirit

The Best Decision we can make is to embrace the Holy Spirit!

The advocate is the Holy Spirit.
Jesus told them not to leave until the promise of the Holy Spirit has come. He will baptize them.
I can’t get passed this word baptize.
All of the Disciples had been baptized in water, now they will be baptized in the Holy Spirit.
It was an experience that opened the door to access heaven in a greater way.
As we embrace the Holy Spirit we will have a baptizm experience.

See this Fast from a Fathers Perspective

The Father is the great architect and I have learned to trust His process even when I don’t always understand it.
He is a good Father who knows what is best.
