Galatians 4:3-7

Need (vs3)

All of us were at one time part of the worldly system because of our sin.

The slavery under the world’s system is voluntary (Romans 6:16) and deceptive.

Nothing within the world has the ability to save from it.

Matthew 1:21 shows that in God’s timing, He addressed the need.

Redemption (vs4-5)

Jesus was born of a woman in fulfillment of Genesis 3:15.

Jesus was born under the law but kept that law perfectly to be our substitute.

Jesus remained outside of the system of the world to redeem us from it.

We must believe to receive the gift of this salvation.

Result (vs6-7)

When we believe in Jesus, we move from being a slave to a child of God (vs5).

Through Jesus, we have the Spirit in us reminding us of God’s presence and our identity (vs6)

Celebration of Jesus’ coming directs us to our future inheritance (John 14:2).
