Focus Text:
The New Testament Gift of Tongues:As I can see it t there are 3 types of “speaking in tongues” in the New Testament.
1.
The Gift of Languages (mentioned here in the book of Acts.
2. Prophetic encouragement (tongues interpreted).
3. The Prayer Language.
Honorable Mention would be a ability to learn and communicate in earthly language.
why would God use the gift of languages on the Day of Pentecost?
Because He wanted the message of the Gospel to Go forth.
Most people think in their first language.
if your going to share the gospel with some one you don't want them to to have to translate in their heads.
when I was growing up this is the only kind of speaking in tongues.
however this explanation made no sense to me when it came to verses like:
if it is the gift of Human Languages then why do we need interpretation?
