WILL THE REAL GOSPEL PLEASE STAND UP part 7

The Sword & The Veil
2020 The Year Of Our True Identity
Revival within the body of Christ. 20-20 Vision
2020 is the year of stepping into our Christ Identity (MB)
The mandate of my ministry is for everyone’s heart to be awakened to their true identity, intertwined in love’s tapestry. This will launch you into a life of knowing the wealth of every conclusion and joint witness hidden within the mystery of God who fathered us and co-revealed us in Christ.
Christ in us the hope of glory
Our I Am-ness
And since we are in him, there is no shortfall in us! Jesus mirrors our completeness and endorses our true identity. He is "I am" in us! (God packaged completeness in “I am,” mirrored in you! The word, exousia, is often translated authority; from, ek + eimi, originating out of “I am.” The days are over where our lives were dictated to under the rule of the law of performance and an inferior identity. It's not about who I used to be or who I'm striving to become; we are celebrating I am! Any teaching that leaves one with a sense of lack and imperfection rather than completeness is a distraction from the truth.)
Heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ.
Crucified with Christ   I am crucified with Christ
Died with Christ All baptized were baptized into his death
Resurrected with Christ United with him in resurrection
A great increase with in the reality of Christ’s presence in and all around us
Deliverance from the “do it yourself” and performance-based Christianity.
A revelation and attainment of the life derived from the love of God.
This will include the abundant life Jesus promised, love between those in the family of God on a level we have not seen, and the power to release the miraculous on the level we have not yet known.

The Sword & The Veil

WHY THE SWORD AND THE VEIL?

THERE IS A SWORD AND VEIL KEEPING PEOPLE FROM THE PRESENCE OF GOD.

FLAMING SWORD = LAW

When Adam & Eve partook of the DIY Tree they were removed from the presence of God

God placed a flaming sword that flashed back and forth to guard the way to the tree of life.
Genesis 3:22–24 NIV - Anglicised
And the Lord God said, “The man has now become like one of us, knowing good and evil. He must not be allowed to reach out his hand and take also from the tree of life and eat, and live for ever.” So the Lord God banished him from the Garden of Eden to work the ground from which he had been taken. After he drove the man out, he placed on the east side of the Garden of Eden cherubim and a flaming sword flashing back and forth to guard the way to the tree of life.
A do it yourself life keeps you from the presence of God

Removed from the presence of God = unloved...

Love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Spirit
Romans 5:5 NIV - Anglicised
And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us.
Adam & Eve lost connection with the Holy Spirit who is the giver of love

Sword speaks of the Word of God

Sword of the Spirit = Word of God
Ephesians 6:17 NIV - Anglicised
Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

The Flaming sword kept them from the presence of God

The sword of the old covenant is like the veil in the temple-- Keeping one from the presence of
WHY THE VEIL AND THE SWORD?

THE VEIL AND THE SWORD OF THE LAW HAVE KEPT MEN FROM GOD

The sword is the Law Old Sword and New Sword
The veil is the the curtain of the temple / Jesus body
Jesus Body is the body of Christ… And you are that body!
God lives in you!
Gospel is veiled to those who are perishing
2 Corinthians 4:1–4 NIV - Anglicised
Therefore, since through God’s mercy we have this ministry, we do not lose heart. Rather, we have renounced secret and shameful ways; we do not use deception, nor do we distort the word of God. On the contrary, by setting forth the truth plainly we commend ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God. And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing. The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.
They are holding on to their unloved/ self right nature
They can't see the good news because they are married to the sense ruled world which is dominated by the law of performance.
Under the law (law of performance) the veil still remains... Outward show of righteousness while living in the unloved nature –
2 Corinthians 3:13–18 NIV - Anglicised
We are not like Moses, who would put a veil over his face to keep the Israelites from gazing at it while the radiance was fading away. But their minds were made dull, for to this day the same veil remains when the old covenant is read. It has not been removed, because only in Christ is it taken away. Even to this day when Moses is read, a veil covers their hearts. But whenever anyone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.

VEIL = UNLOVED NATURE (Flesh or Sinful nature)

VEIL = to hinder the knowledge of a thing

The veil of the temple kept the people from the presence of God (Holy Spirit)
VEIL in the OT spoke of personal righteousness-moral chastity and an outward show of submission to authority (SELF RIGHTEOUSNESS)

VEIL SPEAKS OF "NOT YET LOVED" UNWORTHY TO COME INTO THE PRESENCE

VEIL also speaks of one who is not yet loved
Song of Solomon 1:7 NIV - Anglicised
Tell me, you whom I love, where you graze your flock and where you rest your sheep at midday. Why should I be like a veiled woman beside the flocks of your friends?
VEIL-- Rebecca put a veil over her face before she met Isaac
Genesis 24:65 NIV - Anglicised
and asked the servant, “Who is that man in the field coming to meet us?” “He is my master,” the servant answered. So she took her veil and covered herself.
Adam & Eve created naked..
Naked depicts a nature with a vacuum – one that is in constant need. NOT YET LOVED

FIRE IS THE HOLY SPIRIT THAT TESTS EACH MAN’S WORK

Why Fire? Fire to burn up all that the unloved nature produces

Fire will test the quality of each man’s work

1 Corinthians 3:12–13 NIV - Anglicised
If any man builds on this foundation using gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay or straw, his work will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each man’s work.
What does the unloved nature produce?
Fruit of the flesh and Spirit
Galatians 5:19–22 NIV - Anglicised
The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,

The Holy Spirit Inside (Conscience) Tests the quality of each mans’s Work

Baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire
Luke 3:16 NIV - Anglicised
John answered them all, “I baptise you with water. But one more powerful than I will come, the thongs of whose sandals I am not worthy to untie. He will baptise you with the Holy Spirit and with fire.
Tongues of fire / Holy Spirit
Acts 2:3 NIV - Anglicised
They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them.
The Spirit of Judgement and a Spirit of Fire
Isaiah 4:4 NIV - Anglicised
The Lord will wash away the filth of the women of Zion; he will cleanse the bloodstains from Jerusalem by a spirit of judgment and a spirit of fire.

GOD’S PLAN TO DELIVER US

1. Jesus Became The Sword In Human Flesh

The Word became flesh and dwelt among us
John 1:14 NIV - Anglicised
The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

2. Jesus Became The Veil That Would Be Torn To Bring Unity With God Again

Veil...that is to say his flesh
Hebrews 10:19–20 NIV - Anglicised
Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body,
Curtain of the temple was torn in two
Luke 23:44–46 NIV - Anglicised
It was now about the sixth hour, and darkness came over the whole land until the ninth hour, for the sun stopped shining. And the curtain of the temple was torn in two. Jesus called out with a loud voice, “Father, into your hands I commit my spirit.” When he had said this, he breathed his last.
Written code & regulations nailed to the cross in Christ
Colossians 2:13–14 NIV - Anglicised
When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your sinful nature, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins, having cancelled the written code, with its regulations, that was against us and that stood opposed to us; he took it away, nailing it to the cross.
Jesus was torn… You are His body… you were torn… Tearing- separating flesh from spirit.... All By Grace … None by the flesh...

3. Jesus Fulfilled The Righteous Requirements Of The Law (SWORD)

Jesus fulfilled
Matthew 5:17 NIV - Anglicised
“Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfil them.
Aced the test and gave you his score
Born under the law to redeem those under the law (bound by the performance driven law)
Galatians 4:4–5 NIV - Anglicised
But when the time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under law, to redeem those under law, that we might receive the full rights of sons.

4. Jesus Became Sin For Us

He who knew no sin became sin for us
2 Corinthians 5:21 NIV - Anglicised
God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

5. Jesus Canceled All Charges Against Us

Nailed the law to the cross
Colossians 2:14 NIV - Anglicised
having cancelled the written code, with its regulations, that was against us and that stood opposed to us; he took it away, nailing it to the cross.

6. Jesus Took Us To The Cross With Him

We died with Christ
Romans 6:3–8 NIV - Anglicised
Or don’t you know that all of us who were baptised into Christ Jesus were baptised into his death? We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life. If we have been united with him like this in his death, we will certainly also be united with him in his resurrection. For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin— because anyone who has died has been freed from sin. Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him.
  I am crucified with Christ
Galatians 2:19–21 NIV - Anglicised
For through the law I died to the law so that I might live for God. I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing!”
Fellowship of sharing in HIS sufferings
Philippians 3:10 NIV - Anglicised
I want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death,
We died to the law through the body of Christ
Romans 7:4 NIV - Anglicised
So, my brothers, you also died to the law through the body of Christ, that you might belong to another, to him who was raised from the dead, in order that we might bear fruit to God.
Died with Christ to the basic principles of this world
Colossians 2:20 NIV - Anglicised
Since you died with Christ to the basic principles of this world, why, as though you still belonged to it, do you submit to its rules:
For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God
Colossians 3:3 NIV - Anglicised
For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.
