SERIES INTRO:
Every book ever written, every song ever sung, every movie ever made, every poem ever put into prose, every painting ever painted, finds its origin in God’s story.
What is the greatest story you have ever read.
Every book ever written, every song ever sung, ever movie ever made whispers his name.
There is one great story, because there is one great story teller.
It is in his story that we will find our story.
Exodus isn’t just about what happened, it is about what has been happening since the creation of the world.
In every story there is a villain, in every story there is conflict, suffering, uncertainty.
In every story there is good and evil.
But In every story there is a Hero.
It is engrained into our very being.
We long for rescue, for reprieve from suffering, for freedom at last.
But there is one true hero.
One to whom all heroes point.
Every book ever written, every song ever sung, ever movie ever made whispers his name.
Exodus is not only their story, but it is our story, because we are all apart of His Story.
For all things are “from him, and through him and To Him”
That the name of JESUS might be lifted high.
And at the name of JESUS all people would be delivered from darkness
Redeemed from suffering
made anew in HIM.
This is why we are studying the book of Exodus.
The Exodus is the most referred to story of all of God’s works in the OT.
It is constantly pointed back to.
Example: I am the God who rescued you from Egypt.”
It was for my name’ sake that I acted.
Will you take the journey with us as we look at the story of God’s people?
You will find yourselves in them.
We will find our story within their story.
You see God isn’t done acting.
He’s not done acting through One Hope Church.
We have a mission to declare the Hero of Heroes to the nations.
There is only One Savior and his name is Jesus
And it is in him that we find out HOPE in this life and the next.
God’s vision is to see the City, Nations and Generations find their hope in JESUS.
This is our 2020 vision and beyond.
To do that we are called to lift up his name through sermon and service.
We are called to make disciples that love and live like Jesus.
This is our mission for 2020 and beyond.
Will you be a part of God’s work.
God is still redeeming!
Where we start today is in Chapter 2 of the five chapter book known as the Pentateuch which was penned by Moses.
