Text
Luke 6:38
1 Peter 4:10–11 NKJV
10 As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. 11 If anyone speaks, let him speak as the oracles of God. If anyone ministers, let him do it as with the ability which God supplies, that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belong the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

1) The call to discipleship is not one of being served but of service.

2 Samuel 6:1–15 NKJV
1 Again David gathered all the choice men of Israel, thirty thousand. 2 And David arose and went with all the people who were with him from Baale Judah to bring up from there the ark of God, whose name is called by the Name, the Lord of Hosts, who dwells between the cherubim. 3 So they set the ark of God on a new cart, and brought it out of the house of Abinadab, which was on the hill; and Uzzah and Ahio, the sons of Abinadab, drove the new cart. 4 And they brought it out of the house of Abinadab, which was on the hill, accompanying the ark of God; and Ahio went before the ark. 5 Then David and all the house of Israel played music before the Lord on all kinds of instruments of fir wood, on harps, on stringed instruments, on tambourines, on sistrums, and on cymbals. 6 And when they came to Nachon’s threshing floor, Uzzah put out his hand to the ark of God and took hold of it, for the oxen stumbled. 7 Then the anger of the Lord was aroused against Uzzah, and God struck him there for his error; and he died there by the ark of God. 8 And David became angry because of the Lord’s outbreak against Uzzah; and he called the name of the place Perez Uzzah to this day. 9 David was afraid of the Lord that day; and he said, “How can the ark of the Lord come to me?” 10 So David would not move the ark of the Lord with him into the City of David; but David took it aside into the house of Obed-Edom the Gittite. 11 The ark of the Lord remained in the house of Obed-Edom the Gittite three months. And the Lord blessed Obed-Edom and all his household. 12 Now it was told King David, saying, “The Lord has blessed the house of Obed-Edom and all that belongs to him, because of the ark of God.” So David went and brought up the ark of God from the house of Obed-Edom to the City of David with gladness. 13 And so it was, when those bearing the ark of the Lord had gone six paces, that he sacrificed oxen and fatted sheep. 14 Then David danced before the Lord with all his might; and David was wearing a linen ephod. 15 So David and all the house of Israel brought up the ark of the Lord with shouting and with the sound of the trumpet.

Matthew 20:28 NKJV
28 just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.”
Matthew 28:20 NKJV
20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.
many people in the house of God have a country club mentality toward the Church.
0:28
they come when it’s convenient, because they have a country club mentality. we should not come to church just to be served, we should not be merely consumers we should be commited.
there is no one in the body of Christ is unfeigned.
1 Peter 4:10 NKJV
10 As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.
because each one of us has been given a gift we are are to use them in Lord both inside and outside the house of God.
there are some reasons we don't serve God.

2. Before we can serve to full capacity we must be saved.

2 Peter 1:10 NKJV
10 Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble;
1 Peter 1:10 NKJV
10 Of this salvation the prophets have inquired and searched carefully, who prophesied of the grace that would come to you,
one of the things that makes me nervous about serving the recovery community is are you saved or Just spiritual.
2
is Jesus your Lord, or your home boy.
do you realize that you would not be here if the Holy spirit had not drawn you?
have you surrounded to the Lordship of Jesus Christ?
did you come to repentance or are you just walking in someone else’s foot steps?
salvation comes from realizing that I am a sinner.
Romans 3:23 NKJV
23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
Romsa
I could do nothing through my own work to earn my salvation.
Ephesians 2:8–9 NKJV
8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast.
1 Corinthians 1:31 NKJV
31 that, as it is written, “He who glories, let him glory in the Lord.”
1 Corinthians 1
Galatians 6:14 NKJV
14 But God forbid that I should boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.
Galati

a. Jesus is the perfect lamb of God ( he lived a perfect life.)

John 1:29 NKJV
29 The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!
1 Peter 3:18 NKJV
18 For Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive by the Spirit,
1 Peter 3:
Luke 23:39–43 NKJV
39 Then one of the criminals who were hanged blasphemed Him, saying, “If You are the Christ, save Yourself and us.” 40 But the other, answering, rebuked him, saying, “Do you not even fear God, seeing you are under the same condemnation? 41 And we indeed justly, for we receive the due reward of our deeds; but this Man has done nothing wrong.” 42 Then he said to Jesus, “Lord, remember me when You come into Your kingdom.” 43 And Jesus said to him, “Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise.”
Luke 23:39
Acts 3:19 NKJV
19 Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord,
My question today is… have you been saved?
Do you know Jesus as Lord.
Has your heart become convicted of sin.
do your realize that you can only come to Christ through surrender to Christ?
Romans 10:9–10 NKJV
9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Romans 10:9-10
we will not serve a God we do not love!
we cannot love God fully until we are born again.

3. once our salvation is sure our service is solid.
