Diserning the Will

Last week we talked about the Sterling God's Voice this week. We're going to really dive in just real quickly and look at Discerning the will. I told you guys another way of saying we'll is plan. So before you can receive the plan you have to discern God's voice yet to know that this is his voice this into your listening to and we looked at Jesus in his temptation. But now we're going to dive into Discerning the will and I want to share a story before we go there. stories about this young man We came in Munich because it's whole country went into captivity. Yes, before the country went into captivity got some many prophets to them. They repent repent turn back to God because if you don't you're going to go into captivity and the main Prophet that spoke to the people 70 years ago was this guy named Jeremiah? He's known as Jeremiah the prophet and a lot of Scholars look at him and filos look at him and they say in the Bible that he's called the feeling probably because no one repented, but actually he was very unique and diligence because in a time where many weren't standing for God he still chose to speak out. Jeremiah gives his prophecy about you guys are going to be taking over and go into Babylon and it's known as the Babylonian captivity. Well in the Babylonian captivity, there's certain characters that are highlighted. You have the three Hebrew Royster Meshach Shadrach in a Bendigo. And then after that you have this one unique individual. They renamed him Bella shazar. What is Hebrew name is Daniel? And if you ever look at Daniel's life Daniel, she made a commitment in his heart to say God. I'm going to seek your face 3 times a day. You made a commitment to treat. I'm going to see you 3 times a day. Well in the Captivity. Daniel came across this prophecy That was from that Prophet that everyone said fail. And if you have your Bibles is finding something Daniel the 9th chapter. And this is what it says. In the first year of Darius the son of he has written a lot that is a name, isn't it? Who wants who wants to help me pronounce this one?

In the first year of his Reign I Daniels understood from the book The number of years which according to the word of the Lord. To Jeremiah the prophet must pass by before the Desolation which had been pronounced on Jerusalem. Or Jerusalem in and it was 70 years. Let me explain what's going on gang goes as been in captivity captivity for about 667 years in captivity now for 67 years and through that time. Daniel and his friends Meshach Shadrach in a Bendigo have been under serious persecution, but they still chose to trust in the Lord and In the 67 Year Daniel came across of Prophecy that Jeremiah the prophet spoke 67 years prior. And it says that you begin to understand so the next question that we got to ask when we dive in yours. What did Jeremiah Say? Let's look at it Jeremiah 25-11. This is this is about 67 years before Daniel. In Jeremiah prophesied about Israel because at that time the nation was fine at that time, they were under persecution, but they had a choice to make are they going to repent and turn to God or they're going to continue down the path of destruction and it says in this whole land shall be a waste and astonishment.

And these nations Shall Serve the king of Babylon 70 years.

And so anyways, Daniel comes across this text and you read that text. He's like, hold on. Do you have an understanding of it? Do you read that means like how many years has it been since we won in captivity, he starts counting up the years. He sees God's plan God's will his will was if you don't repent this is going to happen, but it only be for a duration of 70 years to Daniel then. Read that in the book of Jeremiah, which is the scroll at the time and he's like, hold on. Any thoughts on where is battling now? We're under captivity now and he starts seeing the will of God. I want to tell you first step of receiving God's will knowing just will you have a Bible? That's the first place to start. I'mma tell you before you go off road with the spirit you better start with the Bible.

Let me say what I mean a lot of times. When when we the reason why being Spirit Led seems to be a spooky topic for Sailors or a what's the word I'm looking for. It seems to be very eerie is because we don't understand how they operate. But if you want understand the Bible is a book of the spirit. It did not originate by man stinking alone. It's his men who were moved by the Holy Spirit inspired by him to write that when you look at that that tells me that the spirit gave us other it's already and it's called the Bible. But if you're not in your Bible and you're not Discerning what God is already said and his will because of how many people know God never changes. How we operate does but he himself does not change. What do I mean by that?

Got me tell you and it's in the Bible. You will see it. You may say one thing like go and fight this battle this way and then the next time he's going to say this is what I want you to get marching band out and March around the city. And that doesn't make any sense if you're trying to win the battle, right? So what I'm saying is God's strategy to your situations will change but God himself does not change. And so what so what we're looking at it, but if you don't know how God has operated in the past, you won't know how to receive him operating in the now. A lot of times when I see happiness that we try to go off old strategy. Let me see anyone familiar with the Revolutionary War. Okay, this is a really cool American history moment brought to you like that.

So, you know any there was a war right and one side if I'm not mistaken, it was rid of side. They had a certain operation and way of fighting everyone line up. The end of run is called fight like gentlemen are Americans and we're Cowboys and we have befriended the Indians and what they don't fight that way they hide in bushes. They hide in trees they blend into the environment. So you're coming marching like that to take away land and you like we're going to meet at and they're surrounded you and fighting that's some of the strategy that the American Revolutionary War that the American side use against the British. And they weren't used to that type of warfare. In our lives if we're using old strategy. It may not work for a circumstance where we're at. So you have to receive what God is saying, but if you don't understand what he has said, you won't receive what he saying or you're going to receive something you saying, but it ain't coming from God. Because your lack of discernment of Understanding God's character and understanding his voice. Her sleeve Daniel start it was God's work. The first way to understand God's plan cuz games like oh my goodness the plan of right now in the 67 years is that God wants to take us back to Israel. It looks like up in Jeremiah 29 10 because more of its there. And it says this for that says the Lord when 70 years are completed for Babylon. I will visit you and keep my good promise to you causing you to return to this place for I know the thoughts I Hold On. It's not that famous verse. It's a famous verse that we like that hang up on our walls have it on my phone as a reminder for I know the thoughts I know the plan.

That I have for you if you can change that word plan for I know my thoughts in my will. towards you Did the Lord thoughts? Plans for welfare. She's not evil to give you hope and your final outcome. Then you will call upon me and you will come and pray to me and I will hear you. Then you will make then you will seek me inquire for a name require me as a vital necessity and find me when you search for me with your whole heart. I will be found by you since the Lord and I release you from captivity and gather you from all the nations and all the places to which I have driven. You says the Lord and I will bring you back to the place from which I caused you to be carried away captivity. Are we captive So Daniel is examining the Scrolls from Jeremiah finds out that he's in Babylon now, it's been 67 years and then he also advised. Okay, I saw God today. This is what he's going to do because we disobeyed and now I just found out what God says what he's going to do in 70 years A lot of times when we read the Bible hands of God, we hear the will of God for us. We can see his purchases and intend for us but there's something that we don't do we don't put the plan in action.

Can you read this he's like God was to be good to us. He said that he knows the plans he has for us but it also says this it says when you He said he said then you will call upon me and you will come and pray to me and I will hear and heed you too. God damn. These are the plans I have for you, but Look for you or what? What I want you to do. Is there something I need you to do. I need your participation here cuz it was already in the cards for them. Already ordained. It was already as well. That was something about the deck he gave you the best hand to play with. He gave you a hand that you can lose with but if you don't play the game You Can't Win It. Daniel realize. So you put the plan into action and if we can move on back to Daniel 9 it says this so Daniel read that you said I was made to understand what was written and then he says and I set my face to the Lord to seek Him by Paris supplication with fasting sackcloth and Ashes and I pray to the Lord my God and made confession and said, oh Lord the great and Dreadful God who keeps Covenant mercy and loving kindness with those who love him and keep his Commandments. stop

All of a sudden Daniels like it's been sick them something we're going to Ricky popular in this isn't 57 years. Made a promise to Jeremiah and he said that we're going to return home, but he says when you seek me with your whole heart when you when you come after me and you turn your hearts towards me and I will hear you. I will deliver you and then he's like for I know the plans I have for you. It's a Daniel decides not to just read the prophecy. He decides to put the will of God In Action in his life. He took it personal and begin to implement the plan. Do you ever read on in that story of Daniel chapter 9 you find out that Daniel was on the faster 21 days for 21 days Daniel begin to fast you going to cry out to God was sent by the pennies and then was eating during this fast is known as the Daniel Fast.

But he didn't drink Choice wines he gave up the Choice Meats and he ate like a just a bland diet. Eddie crying out to God it says after 21 days. an angel came to a name Gabriel and Gabriel spoke to him this in there were three visions three particular times has happened. And Gabriel said Daniel you are beloved by God and I am son here since the day you turned your heart towards me towards the Lord since the day. You turned your heart towards the Lord's. I was son immediately to you to make you understand. What should go forth. And what's what's going to happen. Today is first implementing the plan of God in action. And when he does let me show you this when can you start implementing the written word all the sudden the spiritual realm became open to him? We as Believers when we start implementing putting action behind the written words and opens us to be led by the spirit.

Yes, a sounding its founding of that word came to see Wishin and Daniel started to understand. He started to realize this is what's going to happen. This didn't happen once but it happened three times. The first time was the answer for his Nation the second time you have another vision and buy your 70 he gets the final vision and he gets a vision of the Messiah coming because the vision of what's going to go for Babylon all those things and understanding because he chose to interact and enter in the will of God the plan of God. I got some questions for us today. What is the plan from God for us?

This is something that you and me we have to do personally, but we also have to do collectively like God. What is your plan and will for us as a community? What is your plan and what for me individually?

The next thing is what does he want to accomplish from the plant? Not just what your plan but what is the purpose of your plan? Whenever you guys like leading you into something you got to ask these questions. Like what's the plan? What do you want to come loose? And the next thing is one for real personal. Are you putting this plan into action? Are you taking what he's asking us to do and putting it to action are you getting legs to it? I said it before did you cuz you know how to bake a cake and quote the rest of you at me doesn't mean I'm going I'm eating cake. A lot of times just because we quote scripture. We know things doesn't mean that were implementing the scriptures and being led by the spirit in it because it's about that face Ricky with the word cuz the Bible says blessed are those who are not just hears but Dewar's Daniel became a door. I'm going to ask us are we willing to become doers of his word? Are we willing to take the next step with God and say God, whatever you ask me next. My answer is yes, and it's not just yes, but it's immediately I'm going to step into it. I'm not going to wait for tomorrow.

Speaking of tomorrow. This is there is this business guy? He said since I only said yesterday time and strength Tomorrow isn't promised. All you have is now. We think of that when God tells us to do something. What we can to activate immediately in the now. And that's when we get into now face. That face for later my face. We tomorrow but now in the moment.

Absolutely. Absolutely. Now that's the church's mission.

the mission never changes the strategies do

how do you take the mission that's in the Bible is called the Great Cove mission mission.

Because you colabor in the mission. It's you Coco. combining because you're supposed to be active part in the mission. The question is now are we?

When I read the Bible ask myself questions when I come to a note in the book of Isaiah God. I don't know a lot only know what you tell me, but I'm here to learn. I'm a student. I think you're my teacher Holy Spirit. Tell me what you want me to know. When we come with an attitude that says I'm not only teachable what I'm willing to do what you teach me. We begin to understand the mission of the church. Cuz we we have a we have a general base of understanding for the are we implementing are actively in that mission.

Yeah, I thought it was so cool during worship. How You just sent God beginning to move in before I saw it before it started like come out. I got to have like a little mini vision and I was like well and when I got to see was a cloud of witness and it was like heaven started worshiping with us. And once that happens is like the worship just completely went.

And I was like wow that is exciting. in our lives in our lives, are we? Taking what God is already saying doing cuz the cool thing was we were already singing and making a Joyful Noise unto the Lord. Unless we actively song you made a Joyful Noise unto the Lord and worship. You can sense God compounding his presence his love and spirits and beginning to habitude the Praises of his people begin to come in and begin to change that when you and me individually and as a community take God's word seriously and step out in faith and do it. That's when the next steps come. But until we open our Bibles and we move on the first step. We never make it to the next. So what's the next step for our community?

21 days guys We're going to cost for 21 days. There's different ways that I discussed last week of doing it. If you want to pick one from each list or pick one only you do whatever got within your heart to do with the goal of this is right through and unity. The goal is this is say God whatever you want from us. We're willing to take the next step with you. I see Daniel as you took the next step. And it's exciting because it was in the will of God already the plan and Daniel just activated in the plan what has God spoken to you and to us collectively. Did all we have to do is waiting for us to activate it?
