How to pray for God's life for you

Introduction

"Prayer" is letting God communicate with you.

Fact: Prayer is a Declaration of Dependence on God

Romans 10:17, John 14:14

Two Ways God Speaks To People:

1. Universally

"Logos" which applies to everyone.

Personally - "Rhema" which is to individuals.

Fact: God uses His Spirit to speak to us in three important ways:

John 14:26, John 16:13

1. He teaches us God's Word.

2. He reminds us of God's Word.

3. He guides us according to God's Word.

Romans 10:13,14

Question: How do you know if God is giving you a personal word - "Rhema"

Answer: 1) It will always agree with the Bible. - I Corinthians 14:33

Answer: 2) Scripture will come alive. - L- John 16:13

SIX WAYS TO PRAY TO GET GOD'S DIRECTION FOR YOU:

1. Confess Any Known Sin. - I John 1:9

"Confession" is agreeing with God that your sin is wrong.

II. Commit The Decision To Christ. - L- Proverbs 3:5,6

III. Ask God To Give Us His Will. - L- Psalm 37:4

A. Ask for God's wisdom. -James 1:5

"Wisdom" is applied knowledge.

B. Wait on God's wisdom. - Philippians 2:13

IV. Compare Your Desires With Scripture

A. Use scriptural screening.

B. Your desires must pass 8 tests. - James 3:17

V. Listen For God's Personal Promise.

A. Don't dip and skip through scriptures.

B. Prayerfully read God's Word and wait.- L- John 8:31,32

VI. Claim God's Promise With Confidence.

A. Thank God for His will for you. - I Thessalonians 5:18

B. Thank God for His answer that's coming.
