Introduction

Worship never stops. It’s what we’re designed to do! Why is it that we worship the way we do in our contemporary culture? What even is worship? Is it music or preaching? Is it acts of service? Is it communion or high liturgical acts? What does it mean to be a worshiper? What does it mean to be a church that worships?

What is Worship?

Worship is both Vertical and Horizontal.
It is about our relationship with God and with each other.

How we worship affects how we think about God
Final Exam for The Worshiping Church First Week—What Is Worship?

“What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us…man’s spiritual history will positively demonstrate that no religion has ever been greater than its idea of God. Worship is pure or base as the worshiper entertains high or low thoughts of God. For this reason the gravest question before the Church is always God Himself, and the most portentous fact about any man is not what he at any given time may say or do, but what he in his deep heart conceives God to be like.”
