We have some more very practical instruction. Boys, do you want to become men? Girls, do you want to become women? Well there’s some instruction for you in tonight’s passage…
Also, you can use these descriptions in your dating life! Are you tired of having chumps for boyfriends? Tired of basic girls for girlfriends? Use these criteria!
Titus one finishes with instruction to be ready to stand against bad doctrine, Titus two opens by saying we must proclaim good doctrine and he gives instruction in living according to good teaching. In verse 11, Paul says that we do these things because of the grace God has shown us in Jesus.

Manning

Young men, look for godly men to learn from.
I just recently finished the Star Wars movies. I had only seen the first three and since we got back from Disney I have watched them all. The Jedi have a great system of this. Obiwan and Kwaigon, Anakin and Obiwan, Luke and Obiwan, then Yoda. Luke and Ben, although that one didn’t work out as well. But a young person wanting to be a Jedi finds a Jedi to train under to become one. This is called discipleship.
read vs 2 and 6-8
verse 2
Young men, find a man that fits this description and spend time with him, learn from him.
verses 6-8
This is a description of the kind of man God wants you to mature and become.
A good attitude to have when it comes to this idea...
1 Peter 5:5 HCSB
In the same way, you younger men, be subject to the elders. And all of you clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble.
Ladies, Paul has instruction for y’all too!

Womanning

Y’all should look for godly women to learn from.
There are lady Jedis too girls! The hero from these last three movies is one and Princess Leia is her hero!
Verse three is your example...
And four and five are what you should seek to become...
A note about “homemakers”...
This is not an instruction to be a work-at-home mom. Your family and home should be a primary focus, but men are called to make their family their primary focus as well. God has made and equipped men and women differently in his good plan and wisdom. That includes different roles in the home. Women take a lead in homemaking, men can help! Men, squish spiders!
The woman is not one who stayed in the home and never worked.
If you need help finding people in our church that meet the descriptions here, I know plenty! Just ask me and I’ll help you find someone!
When you become the kind of man or woman described here, it affects everything you do, including the way you work.

Working

When you work for someone else, do it in a way that honors God.
Something from the office. Dwight Time Thief on YouTube
Whether you have a job at the grocery store, at a boutique, for a landscaping company, or your’e working around the house for your parents, you should have this attitude.
Colossians 3:22–24 HCSB
Slaves, obey your human masters in everything. Don’t work only while being watched, in order to please men, but work wholeheartedly, fearing the Lord. Whatever you do, do it enthusiastically, as something done for the Lord and not for men, knowing that you will receive the reward of an inheritance from the Lord. You serve the Lord Christ.
So we’ve received instruction on manhood, womanhood, and… employeehood? But there is one motivation for all of it.

God’s grace is our reason.

We live in a godly way so we are better prepared to see the reason for our hope, so we are better prepared to see Jesus. The first thing you must do to be prepared to see Jesus, and the only way you’ll be able to live the way described in , is to place your faith in Jesus for your life.
