Wide Open Spaces

(The Message) 1–2 5 By entering through faith into what God has always wanted to do for us—set us right with him, make us fit for him—we have it all together with God because of our Master Jesus. And that’s not all: We throw open our doors to God and discover at the same moment that he has already thrown open his door to us. We find ourselves standing where we always hoped we might stand—out in the wide open spaces of God’s grace and glory, standing tall and shouting our praise.
3–5 There’s more to come: ...............we can’t round up enough containers to hold everything God generously pours into our lives through the Holy Spirit!

Smallness Within
(The Message) 11–13 Dear, dear Corinthians, I can’t tell you how much I long for you to enter this wide-open, spacious life. We didn’t fence you in. The smallness you feel comes from within you. Your lives aren’t small, but you’re living them in a small way. I’m speaking as plainly as I can and with great affection. Open up your lives. Live openly and expansively!
Paul wanted the Corinthian Church to live the “wide open spacious life” but he was battling with them feeling small.

Paul wanted the Corinthian Church to live the “wide open spacious life” but he was battling with them feeling small.
Their problem that was a major obstacle to it. They felt small.
Smallness- Restricted, Narrow, Cramped, Hemmed in, Be crushed, In trouble, Distressed
To feel unimportant, ashamed, insignificant
Enter through Faith-
Enter through Faith-
The door to wide open space is through faith

Faith Comes By Hearing-
(NKJV) 17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
Faith can only come by hearing Gods word.
Not your words- Not your TV- Not what others say- Not what the world says....

Consider Soberly Faith Portion
Sober Opinion about Self- Don’t Think to Highly about Self
(NIV) 3 For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you.
(NKJV)3 For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith.
Serve God with Spiritual Gifts
3 For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith.

Hearing The Word
Personal- Bible, Prayer, Devotionals,
Church- Life Groups, Sermons
Going To Church
Illustration- Getting saved and hungry, Taking every opportunity to hear the word. 38 years later
My Observation- Regular attendance is a key factor to strong faith fulled believers who live in the wide open spaces.
Because the hear the word and create opportunity for their portion of faith

What Do You Do When You Don't Go To Church???

Judging Others- Don’t Judge
(NKJV) 7 “Judge not, that you be not judged. 2 For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you. 3 And why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye? 4 Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me remove the speck from your eye’; and look, a plank is in your own eye? 5 Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.
Plank In your Eye ---Blind Spots- Limits Vision- Hurt Others- Interferes With Helping Lost World- Makes you tired
Renewed Mind
(NKJV) 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
(NKJV)
12 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. (Niv. Worship)
2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
3 For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith.
