耶稣成了肉身

“道成了肉身”

In the first book of the New Testament and the third, lengthy portions of Scripture are used to show Christ’s miraculous birth

Yet here, it is summed up like this, “the Word became flesh”This is big news!God, the creator of the universe became like something He created

The one who needs nothing, became one who hungered and thirsted and becomes tired

The eternal one subjected Himself to timeThe immortal one, in a way, became mortal

This is no fairy tale, this is no myth

We call this, the incarnation

It is hard to understand how God became a man

I have to admit that I don’t understand it all

If we could explain everything about God then He would not be God

I find this more interesting than the fact that God became a man

Rich people don’t hang out with poor people

In many ways, rich people live in their own world

They have luxuries most do not have, they eat what most do not eat

Christ is the richest of the rich

And the Bible tell us that He humbled Himself and became a man And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross..

It was a huge step just to become a man, but then to dwell around people!

Sinful people, needy people, people who wanted to kill Him, people who wanted to use Him, people who did not worship Him

Right now in America, we have a president election going on, both candidates are super-wealthy guys

Yet, they are doing their best to try and fit in and act like they are just like everyone else

Christ did not have to put on a showIf you read of his birth in , you will see that he had very humble beginning

He came at a time when there weren’t a lot of conveniencesHe lived among us people

This was no myth or fairy tale

John says, “we have seen His glory, glory that could only come from God Himself”

John writing this book was Himself an eyewitness, That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life;

You don’t die for what you know was a lie

Because of Christ being on the earth, we have a sympathetic high priest

A high priest who can relate

He knows what it is like to be tempted with sin

He did not sin, but he does know the temptation we faceIt is because of this, that we can with confidence approach Him in prayer

He understands and he has grace and mercy for us because of it

Sometimes our lives can be struggles with sin and fear but these are things that Christ understands and he has grace and mercy for us to help us

For an unbeliever, the reversed order is normal

From His fullness

You cannot give what you do not have

Christ is full of grace and truth, the whole of divine revelation

Some would like to think that hell is here on earth

With the wars, disease, poverty, and famine that abound, it almost seems that way

The truth is that we deserve worse than what we have

We have all earned the righteous anger of God

We deserve to be punished. We are criminals who have broken His law

Every breath we breathe is nothing but grace and mercy from God The law came by Moses

The law is not bad but incomplete

The law is there to

show us our sin

we must be righteous:

For I tell you, unless

your righteousness

exceeds that of the

scribes and Pharisees,

you will never enter the

kingdom of heaven. –
