IMPERATIVES: #1 Determine Your Goal;#2 Pick A Point (It’s important to have a one point message. That way you only have one thing to remember.);#3 Create A Map (Me-We-God-You-We);#4 Internalize The Message (Tell a story that takes them on a journey) (Whether it’s a journey to your childhood home or a journey to a life-changing truth, it’s a story that will take you there.) (People make it difficult when they try to communicate points instead of telling a story.) (When you stand up and speak without notes and without having to read your sermon, you’re saying, “This is so important that it’s a part of me — and I think you should make it a part of you, too!”);#5 Engage The Audience;#6 Find Your Voice;#7 Find Some TractionPrayer, Checklist Questions: What do they need to know? Why do they need to know it?What do they need to do?Why do they need to do it?MAP:ME - Explain who you are and what you’re all about. Pastor in his church uses as introduction of idea or topic.WE - It takes me from what I’m thinking or feeling to what WE are thinking and feeling. I have to find an emotional common ground with them around the topic or idea of the message. My goal is to raise a felt need with as many people in the audience as I canGOD - where I take this emotional common ground I’ve established and introduce biblical truth into the discussion. Now I’m providing a solution to the need I just raised. Remember, we are not teaching the Bible to people; we’re teaching people the Bible. First, we connect with the people; then we move to the Bible.YOU - Once I’ve introduced God’s view on the subject as the answer to the need, it makes it easy for me to then ask, ‘What are you going to do about it? This becomes the application segment, and if I’ve followed my map well, instead of having to stir up interest in making the application, the application comes as a relief or it’s always the answer to a question they’re already asking. Communicate the challenge at a personal level because life-change is going to come when people apply the truth to their lives. You just go back, and everywhere you raised a need, now you make an application and make sure you don’t raise a felt need that you aren’t going to cover from God’s Word and answer with an application. The worst thing a communicator can do is overpromise and under-deliver. You’re building trust with your listeners. Not just trust in the information, but trust in the relationship.WE - the place to cast a common vision. A vision of what our lives, our church, and even our world would look like if only we would apply the truth of God’s Word. It’s the inspirational part of the message. My goal at this point is to inspire people to make a change. Sometimes being faced with God’s Word can leave the listener feeling defeated, if all they think about is how far they have to go. But, if I can give them a picture of what life will be like once they apply the truth, then they have a little hope.

The New York Times reported in an Oct 26, 2003 printing an article entitled “What’s The Value Of a Fetus? it says as following . . . and I quote: “With the Senate’s passage last week of the Partial-Birth Abortion Ban Act of 2003, supporters of abortion rights face an increasingly conspicuous problem. It’s not simply that it is set to be the first federal law to criminalize a specific abortion procedure. It’s that they still don’t know how to articulate the value of unborn human life.
During the debate, anti-abortion senators brandished pictures of second-trimester fetuses and asked whether they were “persons” or “blobs of tissue.” Senators who opposed the ban ducked the question, leaving the impression that they regarded the fetus as a blob. This is a failure of both moral vocabulary and political strategy.
In an article entitled “What’s the Moral Value of a Fetus?” published by ARC on Jul1, 2017 they state . . . and I quote: “Should abortion be legal or should it be outlawed? The answer depends, at least in part, on the moral value of the fetus. . . . I argue that keeping abortion legal is more just than outlawing it, in part because the fetus has less moral value than a person. . . . [skip ahead and he says] abortion might be less immoral than murder, but asserts that the moral value of the fetus is still higher than the moral value of the pregnant woman’s autonomy.
In an article entitled “‘Biblical’ Marriage Unmasked” by Rev. Dr. Miguel De La Torre “Those who claim that the biblical model for marriage is one husband and one wife apparently haven’t read the bible or examined the well-documented sources describing life in antiquity. . . . The sooner we move away from the myth of the so-called traditional biblical marriage, the better prepared we will be to discuss what constitutes a family in the 21st century.

MESSAGE

(GOD)

THE SANCTITY OF LIFE: (PSALM 139:13-16)
Psalm 139:13–16 NIV84
For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.
Ps
THE BIBLICAL VIEW OF MARRIAGE (1 MAN AND 1 WOMAN): (; ; ; ; ; ; ; ; CORINTHIANS 7:2)
Genesis 1:27 NIV84
So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.
Genesis 2:18 NIV84
The Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.”
Genesis 2:20–24 NIV84
So the man gave names to all the livestock, the birds of the air and all the beasts of the field. But for Adam no suitable helper was found. So the Lord God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep; and while he was sleeping, he took one of the man’s ribs and closed up the place with flesh. Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man. The man said, “This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called ‘woman,’ for she was taken out of man.” For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh.
Malachi 2:15 NIV84
Has not the Lord made them one? In flesh and spirit they are his. And why one? Because he was seeking godly offspring. So guard yourself in your spirit, and do not break faith with the wife of your youth.
Matthew 19:4–6 NIV84
“Haven’t you read,” he replied, “that at the beginning the Creator ‘made them male and female,’ and said, ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh’? So they are no longer two, but one. Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate.”
Mark 10:6–9 NIV84
“But at the beginning of creation God ‘made them male and female.’ ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.’ So they are no longer two, but one. Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate.”
Romans 1:26–27 NIV84
Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion.
Mal
Ephesians 5:31 NIV84
“For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.”
1 Corinthians 7:2 NIV84
But since there is so much immorality, each man should have his own wife, and each woman her own husband.
THE BUILDING OF FAMILIES & RELATIONSHIPS: (; COLOSSIANS 3:19-21)
Ephesians 5:25–33 NIV84
Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless. In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. After all, no one ever hated his own body, but he feeds and cares for it, just as Christ does the church— for we are members of his body. “For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.” This is a profound mystery—but I am talking about Christ and the church. However, each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.
Colossians 3:19–21 NIV84
Husbands, love your wives and do not be harsh with them. Children, obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord. Fathers, do not embitter your children, or they will become discouraged.
