1 John 4:7-21

From God

Love comes from God (vs7) and shows us who He is (vs8, 16).

Verse 10 reminds us how God showed His love.

Love didn’t look over our sins but acknowledged them and paid the price.

You cannot know God without knowing that He is love.

Perfect Love

Without love there can be no confidence or assurance.

God’s love is perfect so there is nothing that needs to be added to it.

God’s love shown in Christ leaves no room for fear.

We know what God has done but must believe to have that confidence and assurance.

Loving Others

Receiving perfect love is what brings us to love God and others.

We can’t say we love God if we don’t love others (vs20).

Loving others is something that we owe (Romans 13:8).

If we love others like God loves us, they will get a glimpse of who He is.
