When you think of the scope of what God has called the church to what comes to mind?
When a company launches, one of the most important considerations is the need to identify their “target customers” as well as the possibilities of growth.

Jesus Ministered at HOME

Home was Capernaum
Home was to the Jews

There are many OPPORTUNITIES to IMPACT your community

You community may be defined by geographic boundaries or social boundaries.
Ministry where you are, is ministry at home.
If every member of a SBC church in Kern County shared the gospel with one person per week this year, the Gospel would be shared 832,000 times…there are about 839,000 people in Kern County.

AGE-GRADED Ministry

SOCIAL Ministry

TEACHING Ministry

PHYSICAL Ministry

Whatever aspect of ministry to which you are called, know the scope of it.
Who does it touch? What are ways to increase its impact?

Jesus Ministered AWAY from Home

Jesus knew that the SCOPE of ministry included those who were NOT EASY to reach

California population is estimated to be about 39 million.
At the same rate of one gospel presentation per week per SBC church member, it would take 6 years to share the gospel that many times.
US…The news is better…less than three years

Ministry often means LEAVING our COMFORT ZONES.

Geographic
Age
Socio-Economic

Ministry that takes place away from your normal environment leads you to discover something about the God’s PURPOSE in your LIFE.

When you get out of your box and serve in an unusual or uncomfortable place, God stretches you and makes you more effective in every area of ministry.

Matthew 9:36–38 NASB95
Seeing the people, He felt compassion for them, because they were distressed and dispirited like sheep without a shepherd. Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. “Therefore beseech the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into His harvest.”
