Identity #2
When we know who He is.
When we know who we are.
We find the secret to finding our true Identity in .
Face to face with Jesus is where we find His true identity and our trued identity.
We can stop looking these places to find our Identity:
At our work or what we produce, At our parents, At our politics, At our passions, At our music choices, At our spouse or boyfriend/girlfriend, How we are treated, What we do or don’t produce, Any place outside of us. (The Kingdom is within)
At our parents.
At our politics.
At our passions.
At our music choices.
At our spouse or boyfriend/girlfriend.
How we are treated.
What we do or don’t produce.
Any place outside of us. (The Kingdom is within)
No one can find your identity for you.
You have to look inside you and see Jesus there.
Face to Face with Christ , Fellowship with Christ
You always find your true identity and Father’s true identity face to face.
Face to Face:
Face to face is not hearing God necessarily.
You can here His voice and not be in that face to face posture.
Example:
When you are trying to help your child see a truth in their life. They can hear you and what you are saying with out connecting to you.
The could even repeat what you say, but they do not let your love for them sink.
You can see this connection in their eyes or their lack of connection in their eyes.
This is true for you and Jesus as well.
Seeing him often feels like a dyeing to self first.
In trying to see Jesus face to face we often get stuck.
This is where help from those who have found Jesus face to face helps.
What gets us stuck?
Missing of who we truly are causes us to be blind to Him.
Hanging on to trying to not get hurt.
Hanging on to logic.
Hanging on to SHAME!
What we need is a changed mind.
What gets us past this being stuck?
8 For though I caused you sorrow by my letter, I do not regret it; though I did regret it—for I see that that letter caused you sorrow, though only for a while— 9 I now rejoice, not that you were made sorrowful, but that you were made sorrowful to the point of repentance; for you were made sorrowful according to the will of God, so that you might not suffer loss in anything through us. 10 For the sorrow that is according to the will of God produces a repentance without regret, leading to salvation, but the sorrow of the world produces death.
2 Cor
10 For godly grief produces a repentance that leads to salvation without regret, whereas worldly grief produces death.
2 Cor 7:
Fully giving it to God, produces a changed mind and perspective that leads to wholeness, unhindered connection to Jesus.
It = dreams, what was, what you thought it would be, what you think He should do or have done, what you hang on to that wont let you be fully yourself, not being loved,
In this case Paul told them something different then what they were living.
He told them light is not dark, the worldly things are not heavenly.
Paul addressed a blind spot in their way of living and this produced a sorrow.
What does grief come from?
Death.
Something has to die so something may live.
You must die so He can live in you.
SHAME must die, so Christ in you can live.
23 And Jesus answered them, saying, “The hour has come for the Son of Man to be glorified. 24 “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit. 25 “He who loves his life loses it, and he who hates his life in this world will keep it to life eternal.
36 You fool! That which you sow does not come to life unless it dies;
Expectations of how dreams or prophecies would come must die, so connection to Jesus can live.
The traditions of man make the word of God no effect.
Traditions must die so Eternal Life can live in you.
We can tell if we are living this way by the way we live.
It will look to an outsider that we are following law from fear, but we are not. We are alive to Christ therefore we follow His commands.
We can find some signs that help us see that we are not aligned in truth of who He is and who we are. In
1 John 2:3-5
3 Here’s how we can be sure that we’ve truly come to know God: if we keep his commands. 4 If someone claims, “I have come to know God by experience,” yet doesn’t keep God’s commands, he is a phony and the truth finds no place in him. 5 But the love of God will be perfected within the one who obeys God’s Word. We can be sure that we’ve truly come to live in intimacy with God,
