The Time has Come
The Time has Come
And Jesus answered them, “The hour has come for the Son of Man to be glorified. Truly, truly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit.

Life is Good, But
Worldly life is a sin-slain life
Life is more than here and now
Loving life in this world ties us to sin
Hating this life means despising sin’s stains
Finding eternal life is our hope and goal

Jesus Has A “Human” Moment
Focusing on death is deadly
Thinking of the Cross is Unbearable
Should he seek the easy way out?
Committing to his purpose means facing down death.
The true meaning of Christmas is the Cross
Jesus prays for success not escape
The heavens boom with promise
The first glory is the incarnation, the second the sacrifice.
Mis-Hearing the Voice of God
Mis-Hearing the Voice of God
The crowd that stood there and heard it said that it had thundered. Others said, “An angel has spoken to him.” Jesus answered, “This voice has come for your sake, not mine. Now is the judgment of this world; now will the ruler of this world be cast out.
Mis-Hearing the Voice of God
Mis-Hearing the Voice of God
Did you hear that?
It was noise like thunder to some
It was the power of angel proclamation to others
Jesus explains the heavenly declaration:
You might know God speaks
Judgement for sin has come: Death!
Satan’s goal gets the ending all wrong: He is defeated.
Jesus is certified by God as the Son
Only Death Can Bring True Life
Only Death Can Bring True Life
And I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all people to myself.” He said this to show by what kind of death he was going to die.

Facing Down Death Brings Life
Fulfilling His Purpose
Living out the prophecy of Isaiah 53
God’s heart is for all to be saved: The Cross is the offer of salvation to everyone
As Jesus brings glory to God in his life, God brings glory to Jesus in his death.
When we surrender and depend on Jesus we are participating in Satan’s defeat
Jesus gains glory by suffering for our sin on the cross.
We participate in that glory when we come to Jesus
