Good afternoon and on behalf of the family thank you for being here to honor, remember, and celebrate the life of Rae Dabelow, woman who was loved by so many because she loved so many.
Before we go to the Lord in prayer would you join me in reading aloud the 23rd Psalm

1 The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.

2 He makes me to lie down in green pastures;

He leads me beside the still waters.

3 He restores my soul;

He leads me in the paths of righteousness

For His name’s sake.

4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,

I will fear no evil;

For You are with me;

Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.

5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;

You anoint my head with oil;

My cup runs over.

6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me

All the days of my life;

And I will dwell in the house of the LORD

Forever.

1 The LORD is my shepherd, I lack nothing.

2 He makes me lie down in green pastures,

he leads me beside quiet waters,

3 he refreshes my soul.

He guides me along the right paths

for his name’s sake.

4 Even though I walk

through the darkest valley, a

I will fear no evil,

for you are with me;

your rod and your staff,

they comfort me.

5 You prepare a table before me

in the presence of my enemies.

You anoint my head with oil;

my cup overflows.

6 Surely your goodness and love will follow me

all the days of my life,

and I will dwell in the house of the LORD

forever.

Leah Rae Dabelow (Rae) passed away on Saturday January 4, 2020 at the age of 89. She was born to parents Kentz and Maude Morrical on June 30 1930 in Sullivan Indiana. The youngest of 9, she was affectionally referred to as baby Rae by her siblings. Her family was always a big part of her life and held a big spot in her heart.
In 1950 Rae married the love of her life Robert (Bob) Dabelow. Together the two forged a beautiful life together marked by love and commitment. Though it took sometime they had two children…Carolyn and Donald.
Rae was a wonderful Mother who loved her children and loved spending time with them. She loved being involved in and helping out with their activities, events, and interests. She was deeply involved with the girl scouts both with Carolyn and even after she was done with it.
As a family they loved long camping trips in the summer and were heavily involved in archery and the archery community. Rae was quiet the incredible marks woman, she even won the 1969 World Championship in the Freestyle division. Which tells me I wouldn’t want to be on her bad side.
Rae was a loving grandmother to both Chris and Jenn. She was the always willing to be there for her family and as here grandkids said she was not one to sugar coat things, she would be honest and tell you how she felt but you always knew she loved you. She loved supporting you in anyway she could.
Rae was an accomplished seamstress making custom designed wedding dresses, including her own daughters.
She was as we learned earlier was heavily involved in sorority Beta Sigma Phi. She was natural born leader.
She loved gardening and spending time outside in the garden with her grandchildren.
She was a huge Elvis fan, with many collectable plates... 89 in fact.
She was someone who always left a wonderful impression on the people she met, family members told me how people would ask about here often.
She was an incredibly selfless person…Carolyn relayed to me she remembers her mother taking care of here grandfather in his later years, taking care of Bob at the end of his life, and Don at the end of his life. She was always there for her family in there time of need because that is who was.
The recurring theme as chatted with someone you about Rae was her love and posture to others. It makes me think of that of Jesus when he said
Mark

45 For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.

John

47 Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me has everlasting life. 48 I am the bread of life.

John

16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.

Talk about darkness...
John

46 I have come into the world as a light, so that no one who believes in me should stay in darkness.

1 John

24 As for you, see that what you have heard from the beginning remains in you. If it does, you also will remain in the Son and in the Father. 25 And this is what he promised us—eternal life.

This promise is for everyone. Jesus came for all people. Regardless of their background or the things they have done.
God looked around his garden
And found an empty place.
He then looked down upon the earth,
And saw your tired face.
He put His arms around you
And lifted you to rest.
God’s garden must be beautiful,
He always takes the best.
He knew that you were weary,
He knew that you were in pain.
He knew that you would never
Get well on earth again.
He saw the road was getting rough
And the hills were hard to climb.
So He closed your weary eyelids
And whispered “Peace be thine.”
