1 John 5:1-10

Believe

If we believe in Jesus, we know that we have been born again.

It’s only in Jesus that the old has died and we have new life (Romans 6:4).

God has clearly said that Jesus is the one we must believe in (vs6-10).

Believing means we have moved past knowing facts to truly trusting in Him.

Obedience

We must remember that obedience is evidence of being born again not

a means to it.

Because we have been born again, there’s a difference in action.

Being born again changes our attitude towards the Word of God (Psalm 119:7).

If we are born again, it’s only natural that we would want to know and follow God’s Word.

Overcomes the World

The victory we have over the world is through Jesus (Revelation 12:11).

This world, its system, and its ruler are all defeated by Jesus.

Part of overcoming the world is seeing that the world is something that needs

to be overcome.

We are born again to something so much greater, leading us away from the world to Christ.
