Proverbs 27:12 ESV
The prudent sees danger and hides himself, but the simple go on and suffer for it.
2 Corinthians 2:11 ESV
so that we would not be outwitted by Satan; for we are not ignorant of his designs.

The easiest and quickest way to lose a war is not realizing you’re in one.

WORLD WARFARE

1 John 2:15–16 ESV
Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride of life—is not from the Father but is from the world.
Genesis 3:6 ESV
So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was to be desired to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate, and she also gave some to her husband who was with her, and he ate.

The Great Switch

Genesis 1:28 ESV
And God blessed them. And God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it, and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”

The World is an Enemy

1 Timothy 4:4 ESV
For everything created by God is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving,

If Paul told Timothy everything created by God is good, how is the world an enemy?

The “world,” is not a place but a system. It is a way of thinking and living that rejects God’s rule.

Genesis 3:2–4 ESV
And the woman said to the serpent, “We may eat of the fruit of the trees in the garden, but God said, ‘You shall not eat of the fruit of the tree that is in the midst of the garden, neither shall you touch it, lest you die.’ ” But the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die.
1 Corinthians 2:14 ESV
The natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned.

Worldliness is a failure to renew our minds by the Word of God so we can live in a manner pleasing to God.

Romans 12:2 ESV
Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

The love of the world is enthusiasm for the temporal and apathy for the eternal.

Romans 1:25 ESV
because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever! Amen.
1 Timothy 4:1 ESV
Now the Spirit expressly says that in later times some will depart from the faith by devoting themselves to deceitful spirits and teachings of demons,

To love the world is to value what unbelievers value, to indulge in what is delightful to those who refuse to delight in God.

Psalm 1:1–2 ESV
Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night.
Some make a close study of the world and its ways, then deliberately imitate what they observe. We see this often with those raised in Christian families, ready to gain their independence. They purpose to be worldly and easily achieve their goal. They inevitably drift from the faith. Tragically, many are lost forever.
