Text - Acts 3.19-21
Acts 3:19–21 NKJV
19 Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, 20 and that He may send Jesus Christ, who was preached to you before, 21 whom heaven must receive until the times of restoration of all things, which God has spoken by the mouth of all His holy prophets since the world began.

Types and Shadows

The Sabbath of Rest for the land and for the people

Leviticus 25:4 NKJV
4 but in the seventh year there shall be a sabbath of solemn rest for the land, a sabbath to the Lord. You shall neither sow your field nor prune your vineyard.
God has appointed a refreshing for His land, on the seventh year
Exodus 23:10–12 NKJV
10 “Six years you shall sow your land and gather in its produce, 11 but the seventh year you shall let it rest and lie fallow, that the poor of your people may eat; and what they leave, the beasts of the field may eat. In like manner you shall do with your vineyard and your olive grove. 12 Six days you shall do your work, and on the seventh day you shall rest, that your ox and your donkey may rest, and the son of your female servant and the stranger may be refreshed.
God has also appointed a weekly refreshing for His people
Even God was refreshed!
Exodus 31:17 NKJV
17 It is a sign between Me and the children of Israel forever; for in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, and on the seventh day He rested and was refreshed.’ ”

Pre-conditions for Refreshing

The refreshing that God gives in the last days have certain conditions.
Repentance - the people must repent
Conversion/Restoration - the people must return to a previous state or way of life

Joel 2 Prophecy

God calls "repentance”
Joel 2:12–13 NKJV
12 “Now, therefore,” says the Lord, “Turn to Me with all your heart, With fasting, with weeping, and with mourning.” 13 So rend your heart, and not your garments; Return to the Lord your God, For He is gracious and merciful, Slow to anger, and of great kindness; And He relents from doing harm.
Joel 2:17 NKJV
17 Let the priests, who minister to the Lord, Weep between the porch and the altar; Let them say, “Spare Your people, O Lord, And do not give Your heritage to reproach, That the nations should rule over them. Why should they say among the peoples, ‘Where is their God?’ ”
God promises “restoration”
Joel 2:23–26 NKJV
23 Be glad then, you children of Zion, And rejoice in the Lord your God; For He has given you the former rain faithfully, And He will cause the rain to come down for you— The former rain, And the latter rain in the first month. 24 The threshing floors shall be full of wheat, And the vats shall overflow with new wine and oil. 25 “So I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, The crawling locust, The consuming locust, And the chewing locust, My great army which I sent among you. 26 You shall eat in plenty and be satisfied, And praise the name of the Lord your God, Who has dealt wondrously with you; And My people shall never be put to shame.
God will send the “refreshing” - His Spirit
Joel 2:28–29 NKJV
28 “And it shall come to pass afterward That I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your old men shall dream dreams, Your young men shall see visions. 29 And also on My menservants and on My maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days.
Note - Israel’s condition today
They have been restored as a nation
They have yet to be restored spiritually

Ezekiel 37 Vision

The vision - Ezekiel 37.4-10
God saw Israel’s repentance
Ezekiel 37:11 NKJV
11 Then He said to me, “Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel. They indeed say, ‘Our bones are dry, our hope is lost, and we ourselves are cut off!’
God will restore Israel
Ezekiel 37:12–13 NKJV
12 Therefore prophesy and say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord God: “Behold, O My people, I will open your graves and cause you to come up from your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel. 13 Then you shall know that I am the Lord, when I have opened your graves, O My people, and brought you up from your graves.
God will refresh Israel with His Spirit
Ezekiel 37:14 NKJV
14 I will put My Spirit in you, and you shall live, and I will place you in your own land. Then you shall know that I, the Lord, have spoken it and performed it,” says the Lord.’ ”

The Church’s Refreshing

She needs to repent!
Revelation 3.15-16 - Laodicea’s arrogant attitude
Repent from errors of denominational doctrines and practices
She must be converted/restored back to apostolic faith
Malachi 4.6 - turning of heart of children to their fathers
Matthew 17.11 - Elijah will come first and restore all things!
the Church/Bride of Christ is restored back to apostolic faith by the End-time Message
There can be no refreshing until restoration is done
The refreshing is a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit with power!
greater than in the days of WMB
fresh outpouring for the whole Bride of Christ!

Refreshing is just preparation!

The times of refreshing is preparation for the coming of the Lord.

The Bride’s refreshing prepares her for the coming of Christ in the Rapture!

1 Thessalonians 4:16 NKJV
16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first.
the shout - restores the church
the voice of the archangel - refreshes the church
the trumpet of God - revives/resurrects the sleeping saints for body change together withthe living saints

Israel’s refreshing prepares her for the second coming of the Son of Man!

When jesus comes again, Israel will have already known her Messiah and Savior!
