If there is no hell, why did Jesus talk about it?

Notes
Transcript

If there is no hell why did Jesus die? Apparently sometime last year the Pope stated that there was no Hell.

If there is no hell, why did Moses talk about it in ?
(NKJV)
22 For a fire is kindled in My anger, And shall burn to the lowest hell; It shall consume the earth with her increase, And set on fire the foundations of the mountains.
(NKJV)
17 The wicked shall be turned into hell, And all the nations that forget God.
Rev. 20:14
(NKJV)
14 Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.

IS REAL!

When we say the parable in our Bible reading today , Jesus uses names. The problem with this is is that Jesus never uses names in any parable he's ever spoken.
This tells us that this story is not a parable, but a fact, something that actually occurred.

I) A Different Type of Life

The rich man had no name; Lazarus was named
How important this small thing is!
It's the difference between being known and loved by God and not being known by God.
The rich man did not know God; therefore God is not honor the rich man, (God did not know him).
Lazarus was known by God.
He trusted God to look after him: he loved God, and God loved him in return.
(NKJV)
14 I am the good shepherd; and I know My sheep, and am known by My own.
rich man was wealthy; Lazarus was poor
There is no sin and being rich.
Rich man was a fine upstanding citizen.
He never was out right cruel to Lazarus or anyone else at the Bible tells us about.
He was very self-indulgent, comfortable, and lived an easy life.
The world loves to honor those who have everything. And ignore those who have nothing
the rich man was healthy; but Lazarus was disabled

II) Difference in Death

Lazarus died was carried to paradise
the rich man died and was buried
Notice the only thing said about the rich man was that he died and was buried.
What a lifelong legacy left.
ILL. I was thinking about funerals today
Today's a solemn day for my family. As we lay our niece to rest after a car accident. The loss of this niece is great, and even greater worry, because she has children. The concern we have is whether she had a relationship with Jesus Christ are not.
The biggest question, is whether the pastor preacher funeral will be able to say great things about her and mean it, or will he do what many pastors have to do today simply avoid talking about the person on a personal level.
But let us look at what was said about Lazarus
"He died and was carried by Angels to the bosom of Abraham"
He was carried to the place of eternal rest, love, and peace.

III) A Difference In Eternal Life

Let's just say it for what it is
the rich man was in hell
Lazarus was in heaven
(NKJV)
46 And these will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”
The Rich man was snatched from his perfect life.
He was unfit for paradise
He lived in his paradise
He could see Lazarus and Abraham
Note: Lazarus is unaware of hell
The rich man was alone; Lazarus had companionship
he had to watch paradise
The rich man was burning; Lazarus had water
The rich man was tormented; Lazarus was at peace
The rich man remembered his former life; Lazarus rested
The rich man begged for another chance: Lazarus was at peace
The rich man wanted to warn his family; Lazarus was resting in God’s love.
