We Have Hope
We Have Hope
2 Corinthians 4:7
But we have this treasure in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us.
We have this treasure - The Gospel
Good news
The greatest message
A message of reconciliation
Death - burial - resurrection
It’s a message of hope
“In Jars of clay”
Jars - Vessels
clay — relating to or composed of potter’s clay. Earthenware
Fragile - body of flesh - easily broken
I have a great message but I’m using a vehicle called my body that can have some breakdowns
This thing called life......
I heard a commentator say about Kobe Bryant..... Gone to soonnnnnn
In the body - we will have trouble
Personal (Within ourself) or Connected to us (Through Family)
“To show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us”
But God wants us to see! It’s not about us but about him…
I had to realize that it’s the Gospel which is the greatest message in the world
In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit,
It’s the Gospel that Tasha believed in and because of that she was sealed with the promised Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit that people could not take away
Neither could cancer!
News Flash #1 - Don’t think you’re going to go somewhere later that you don’t believe in now!
We are afflicted in every way but not crushed........
Afflicted: Hardship / difficulties or suffering
This is a moment of suffering and pain....
A moment where we feel lost and broken
But!!!!! I’m not crushed… - We are not without hope!
News Flash #2 - Tasha is not looking down on us… Just think about it…
News Flash #3 - Tasha is not waiting to see us but we are waiting to see her…
I’m feel down right now but we have a hope!
Behold! I tell you a mystery. We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed. For this perishable body must put on the imperishable, and this mortal body must put on immortality.
1 Corinthians 15:
