Life is similar to boxing.
Storms come and storms go. We can’t stop them from coming but we can learn to weather them.
is a passage where Jesus taught the disciples the importance of receiving & obeying scripture in our life.
The disciples were in the classroom with Jesus.
“Once you receive my word, you will let the light of what you have been taught for all to see.”

How do we Weather Storms?
How do we Weather Storms?
1. Accept the Fact that Storms Will Come.
1. Accept the Fact that Storms Will Come.
Jesus & His disciples had done this before. Professional fisherman.
Lake of Galilee - 700 ft below sea level & adjacent to mountaineous regions.
Cold air from high sweeps down. Known for epic storms.
The disciples had done nothing wrong getting into boat.
They were in the middle of God’s will. Jesus went to sleep.
“I hope it’s not hot...”
A disciple of Jesus doesn’t wish storms away. A disciple will face the storm knowing that God has a purpose.
Even in the darkest moments.
2. Remember God’s Plan for the Storm.
2. Remember God’s Plan for the Storm.
The storm wasn’t what brought fault to the disciples.
They had quickly forgotten God’s word. He said, “Let’s cross the lake.”
The storm came quickly! Water filled the boat. All their senses pointed to the boat tipping over.
Why was Jesus asleep? The disciples could have slept too.
They heard the words of Jesus but they didn’t heed them.
A basketball player can’t forget what a coach tells them.
Our storm isn’t the main problem.
Our faith in God through the circumstance will make or break us.
What is God’s plan through the storm?
Where is the word written? On paper or your heart?
3. The Storm Cannot Rage on the Creator.
3. The Storm Cannot Rage on the Creator.
Unlike the disciples, the elements of the storm listened to Jesus. Jesus asked, “where is your faith?”
The storm was the test of their belief.
If they had genuinely trusted Jesus, they wouldn’t have lived in fear.
The disciples were in awe of Jesus. Their messiah was bigger than they thought.
Their fear of circumstance grew smaller as their fear of God grew bigger.
God is famous for calming storms.
He can calm the storm of temptation, fear, & sorrow!
There is no promise over our life but victory.
Jon Randles and the purpose of his suffering.
We serve a God who has authority over the storm.
There is a purpose in it.
Will you allow your faith to grown when the storm is raging?
