The sanctity of Marriage.

Coming up on Nov 4th, we have another attack from satan and the liberals in America. This country is already in enough trouble as it is without us having to worry about same sex marriages. With everything else going on, it galls me to see them trying to slide this in while we are thinking about other things, I’m not here to tell you how to vote, that is between you and God. But I am going to show you what the Bible says about the issue, and personal that is the authority on this any other subject I can think of. Today we are going to learn several things about marriage and what it is:

1.  What are the reasons for marriage

2.  The characteristics of marriage.

Now what does the Bible say about marriage?"

The divine institution of marriage is recorded in Genesis. 2:23-24

3 And Adam said:

“This is now bone of my bones

     And flesh of my flesh;

     She shall be called Woman,

Because she was taken out of Man.”

24 Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.

. God created man and then made woman out of "bone of his bone.

"     The process as recorded, tells us that God took one of Adam's "ribs" (Genesis 2:21-22). The Hebrew word literally means the side of a person.
Therefore, Eve was taken from the "side" of Adam and it is at his side that she belongs. "And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him" (Genesis 2:20). The words "help and meet" are the same Hebrew word. The word is "ezer" and comes from a primitive root word that means to surround, to protect or aid, help, helper, succor. Therefore, it means to help, assist or aid. Eve was created to be alongside of Adam as his "other half," to be his aid and his help. A man and woman when married become "one flesh." The New Testament adds a warning to this "oneness
.

Matthew 19:6

So then, they are no longer two but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate.”

Instead of going back to Deuteronomy, Jesus went back to Genesis. What God did when He established the first marriage teaches us positively what He had in mind for a man and a woman. If we build a marriage after God’s ideal pattern, we would not have the problems we have today.

What are the reasons for marriage? The only thing that was not “good” about Creation was the fact that the man was alone (Gen. 2:18). The woman was created to meet this need. Adam could not find fellowship with the animals. He needed a companion who was equal to him and with whom he could find fulfillment. God’s answer to this need was Eve.

Marriage makes possible the continuation of the race. “Be fruitful, and multiply” was God’s mandate to the first married couple (Gen. 1:28). From the beginning it was God’s command that sex be practiced in the commitment of marriage. Outside of marriage, sex becomes a destructive force; but within the loving commitment of marriage, sex can be creative and constructive.

Paul used marriage as an illustration of the intimate relationship between Christ and the church

(Eph. 5:22–24).

22 Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. 23 For the husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body. 24 Therefore, just as the church is subject to Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything.

Just as Eve was taken from the side of Adam (Gen. 2:21), so the church was born from the suffering and death of Christ on the cross. Christ loves His church, nourishes it with His Word, cleanses it, and cares for it. Christ’s relationship to His church is the example for all husbands to follow.

The characteristics of marriage. By going back to the original Edenic Law, Jesus reminded His listeners of the true characteristics of marriage. If we remember these characteristics, we will better know how to build a happy and enduring marriage.

It is a divinely appointed union. God established marriage and therefore only God can control its character and laws. No court of law can change what God has established.

It is a physical union. The man and woman become “one flesh.” While it is important that a husband and wife be of one mind and heart, the basic union in marriage is physical. If a man and woman became “one spirit” in marriage, then death would not dissolve the marriage; for the spirit never dies. Even if a man and woman disagree, are “incompatible,” and cannot get along, they are still married; for the union is a physical one.

It is a permanent union. God’s original design was that one man and one woman spend one life together. God’s original Law knows nothing of “trial marriages.” God’s Law requires that the husband and wife enter into marriage without reservations.

It is a union between one man and one woman. God did not create two men and one woman, two women and one man, two men, or two women. “Group marriages,” “gay marriages,” and other variations are contrary to the will of God, no matter what some psychologists and jurists may say.

Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God."
1 Corinthians 6:9-10\

Genesis 1:27

"So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them."

— The image of God is both male and female and is reflected in a godly union between male and female where the creative power of God, His life-giving, His self-giving and His moral nature are perfectly expressed. This is only possible in a heterosexual union.

When God created a partner for Adam He created Eve - not another Adam. This means that perfect partnership requires some level of difference as well as a level of similarity so great that Adam could cry out loudly, "This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh". Sexual intimacy between a man and a woman is the normal method of male/female bonding (emotionally and physically) because it corresponds to the design of our bodies and because it is the normal means by which offspring are created.

Romans 1:27

27 Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due.

If God had intended the human race to be fulfilled through both heterosexual and homosexual marriage, He would have designed our bodies to allow reproduction through both means and made both means of relations healthy and natural. But He did not. And it is, sinful, shameful and an abomination unto the lord.

The word penalty or in some translations punishment is just that.       It refers to God’s punishment upon them.

We are being forced into a homosexual society, every television show, every movie, every magazine and now they are trying to pass bills that over tune the Bible and give them all the same rights as heterosexual couples. And we wonder what God has taken His hand off of this country. We are told that it is natural, friends that is not what my Bible says .We are told that Christians should accept it, that’s not what my Bible says.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!! God made Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve.!!!!!!!!!!!

"And He an swered and said to them, 'Have you not read that He who made them at the beginning 'made them male and female,'"
Matthew 19:4

But from the beginning of the creation, God 'made them male and female.'"
Mark 10:6

When Jesus was asked questions about marriage he went straight back to the defining passages in Genesis that say that marriage is between male and female and is meant to be lifelong. He saw the creation accounts in Genesis as authoritative in His day. And what is authoritative for Jesus is authoritative for Christians also. While Jesus did not specifically teach on homosexuality, His establishment of the Genesis passages as the fundamental passages on marriage (even more fundamental than the Law) leaves no doubt as to the outcome.

As I start to close: I want you to hear this. We are told that gays and lesbians and get saved and go to Heaven. Friends let me tell you that if a practicing homosexual receives the gift of the Holy Spirit he or she cannot continue in their sinful ways.

We have gay and lesbian churches out there. Friends this is a deceptions straight from the pits of hell. Homosexual people cannot be saved and still practice Homosexuality. Period! It cannot happen.

Now should we turn our backs on all homosexuals, should we not witness to them or should we stop praying for them? NO. Christ died for all and wants all to come to him and have eternal life. We should pray harder for them because they are deceived and held in bondage. We should love them as we do each other; we are to lover the sinner but hate the sin. They are sinners trapped in sin just like me and you. And they need a way out, just like you and I do. They need Christ just like you and I do

1 Corinthians 6:9-10

.

Friends, I urge you to read up on Amendment 2, and vote your heart, Vote the way God tells you to, but you must be educated on what it is.

But more importantly than that, is God is calling you to make a stand, and make a stand we must, on all unrighteousness, on all ungodliness. And all unbiblical truths. Will we suffer for the cause of Christ? YES. Will we lose friends? YES.

  Church, I’m not asking you to do anything but what God wants you to do. I want you to know that if you are here and do not understand a lot of what I’m saying;

you have not accepted Christ as your own personal Lord and Savior.

And I’m going to give you a chance right now. The alter will be open to anyone who wants to know what it means to have eternal life, or for anyone who wants to pray for someone or someone who wants to pray with me, so whatever the reason is you come today.

Amen
