God cares what we think and say

() — Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.
() — “Either make the tree good and its fruit good, or make the tree bad and its fruit bad, for the tree is known by its fruit. 34You brood of vipers! How can you speak good, when you are evil? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. 35The good person out of his good treasure brings forth good, and the evil person out of his evil treasure brings forth evil. 36I tell you, on the day of judgment people will give account for every careless word they speak, 37for by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.”
The Real Person equals what is in the Heart
() ESV — Do not eat the bread of a man who is stingy; do not desire his delicacies, 7for he is like one who is inwardly calculating. “Eat and drink!” he says to you, but his heart is not with you. 8You will vomit up the morsels that you have eaten, and waste your pleasant words. — NASB: () — Do not eat the bread of a selfish man, Or desire his delicacies; 7For as he thinks within himself, so he is. He says to you, “Eat and drink!” But his heart is not with you. 8You will vomit up the morsel you have eaten, And waste your compliments.
