Jesus Hears the Cries of the Distressed

Jesus Wants To hear
Jarius was a synagogue leader and the Jewish leadership did not trust Jesus
Nicodemus came at night to avoid being seen.
Jarius only had one thing on his mind and it was his little girl
Jarius comes from desperation… don’t wait until you are desperate, Jesus wants to hear… cast your burdens on Jesus, He cares for you.
Jesus wants You!
Jesus wants you to depend on Him.
Jesus Hears our urgency… that doesn’t mean he will always give what you ask.

Jesus Responds to the pain of the Distressed

Jesus is distracted from Jarius and his little girl.
We can approach Jesus with our suffering
Woman was bleeding for 12 years (most of the theologians theories are that it was menstrual bleeding)
She was unclean!
Fighting through the crowd around Jesus she no doubt touched many people, making them unclean. She could have been stoned.
Unclean
Making others Unclean
Woman, probably not married or with children.
Jesus doesn’t Care!
He wants you just the way you are.
We must approach Jesus in Faith
She put everything she had in Christ. Admitting she touched him without permission is yet another offense.
She has no name in scripture, but Jesus gives her a new name. Daughter. What is your name today?
There’s a new name written down in Glory… and its mine, oh yes its mine!

Jesus Raises the distressed

Jarius was probably frustrated.
We can believe in Jesus in spite of the Circumstances
Jesus seems to Challenge and not fret
We can believe in Jesus regardless of Skeptics
Jesus kicks out all the people except the big 3 and the parents
Mourners and all others were skeptics and potential word spreaders.
Mark seems to have a secret gospel theme going on.
We can believe in Jesus because he can be trusted.
Jesus follows through
Jesus never fails.
