Hello is Anybody Home!
Hello is Anybody Home!
There will come a time in our walk with Christ after we get saved we ask the profound question,” God would you search me and find the places inside of me that doesn’t relflect you and remove them?” This passage of scripture is the spitting image of this. This psalm of David is right after he was fed up with living with the decisions of sleeping with Bathsheba, a married woman on the rooftop. This is just like life when we commit to decisions that don’t line up with His heart. Here is what God wants and needs you to know when you get to this point:
Are we serious about this change?
He is not going to take over a place that we really don’t want Him to fully occupy (memories, emotions, feelings, desires, will.)
The day we receive Jesus it is the initiator of the death of our own will, and the birth of His.
He will not get rid of what we keep allowing back. There must be a true and sound committment of total surrender to the Father when dealing with the gates of your heart. If we notice the moment David fixed his heart he then became a “friend of God.” God is in the business of relationship He is not going to impose on a place in our lives that we are not willing to give Him, however once you made the decision to become His, and Him yours that is a life long deal that never gets undone. Do not promise to God what you are not ready to commit to, that goes for everything in life. If we are not ready to surrender these areas that we know of and do not know of it will make this relationship and transformation very difficult.
What is in Your Home?
What is in Your Home?
In this text we see David is finds a new pulse of conviction by what all has transpired. He has sought her out, he has pursued her, he has slept with her, has tried to get her husband to sleep with her (which means he slept with her more than once, remember it takes six weeks before a woman gets “the sign” that she is pregnant which means this was ongoing. Many times in our lives we are never “one and done with sin” I have come up with this set of rules:
One time is for fun or curiosity (We really don’t believe that there can be a penalty on the first time)
Two times is for new view (change of dynamics and perspectives)
Three times is for the new me (you have now accepted the new norm or lifestyle as your own)
When we have to come to the realization that how we have been living is under a spirit and not in Spirit (His) it is time that we ask God to renew me with the proper Spirit. We learn that when there are pieces of furniture in our “house” that is not supposed to be there that we’ve been actually been sitting on it is time that we get rid of it. It doesn’t belong there.....
I know we have said.....
But it has always been here? How?
But it has always been here? How?
I understand that but guess what ask God if,” he is willing to sit on your furniture,” of:
Lust (Custom Furniture it fits your desires and acquired taste)
Unforgiveness (One of the most comfortable pieces of furniture)
Hatred (Its the sink that hydrates you at a moments notice)
Lies (We use this as a drape or shade from letting the light of the Father in that will dispell it with His truth)
Animosity (It is a carpet that when we walk on it kicks up subtle dusts that carry faint aromas)
Rebellion (One of the most undefined rooms in the house, it is always cluttered with stuff)
Disobedience (The furniture that you have no use for and always end up stubbing your toe on and don’t know why we keep it there, but because we are too lazy to deal with it we allow it to occupy space).
Selfishness (It is the item that has no value, but we seem to spend time with it from time to time on the shelf of.... refer to the next item…)
Pride (This is the trophy case of all of our posssessions that equate to absolutely nothing, but we feel a sense of achievement everytime we see it)
Inherited Sin (This is the furniture that was in the house that you never questioned, but found a place for it and have even acquired an inate ability of its functional useage. We actually can use it better than it’s original user, becuase it has come with modern enhancements to suit our desires).
We will never live a life with a pure and clean heart with His presence abiding within, with the lack of drive to have Him there. What is in our heart that HAS ALWAYS BEEN THERE? It is time that we throw it out these “pieces” need to go and allow God to demolish the former heart, for His. We will eventually “spring a leak” in the basement of our heart which will hit so hard it will spew out like a waterfall, spilling out on everything that it touches, people, places, and things.... Nothing is off limits even our ability to lead.
David inherited sin nature from his mother, which means if we don’t address it before kids come in the picture we have the ability to pass on some other things other than height and facial features. We see he came in this world with a sick heart though naturally it was fine. When dealt with and handled by the God we are at the door of potential....
Heart Failure
Heart Failure
This happens when what is in there fills it up to the point where it fails to no longer produce what the body needs. The heart can no longer produce it’s ability to keep us alive. says,” Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God.” If you ever want to see God as He desires for us to then we need to rid ourselves of everything that will keep God from occupying our hearts. Let’s really think about this if we have not given Him that go ahead then we continue to always live in what “we have been used to because it has always been there.” Think about this what measures did you go through as a child when you encountered rejection, failure, neglect, or abandonement?
Remember this:
“weak flesh = a sick heart”
Our mind could be telling us no, but our heart is saying,” I don’t care let’s go.”
Don’t deny the only doctor that makes house calls and can cure us upon arrival. He is the only consistent constant we will ever have in our life. Not one person on this earth can do what He can for God specializes in things that seem impossible. When we are sick we need to find the proper “medication” (scripture) for each ail or sickness that has become a vice or burden.
Don’t stay blinded or have blurred vision when you don’t have to. When our heart is pure and clean we get a new found joy about life, and a new praise and song on our lips. So ask yourself when was the last time I had my “vision” checked? When was the last time I had real joy, a new praise, and sang a new song? You don’t have to be a singer to sing to God a new song that speaks directly to Him he actually openly welcomes it.
Renovation Day! Cardio! Cardio! Cardio!
Renovation Day! Cardio! Cardio! Cardio!
Now physically we need this for a healthy heart, and I would be inclined to say the same for the spiritual lifestyle 150-300 minutes is needed per week along with a healthy diet. The time spent is between 20-30 minutes a day with three of those days turning it up a little more (Prayer and devotional time) 5 days a week. Notice the beattitudes come before this speaks of what comes out of the mouth comes from the heart that defiles us. It gives us some more “rooms and furniture” to evict out of there. We must remain steadfast in the love of God. We cannot be afraid of transformation and renovation it is necessary if you desire to have joy, peace, and wholeness. We must become regimented with this new life so we will be able to help other with renewing their hearts. Salvation will take on a new look because our eyes are renewed (vs. 12-15).
If our heart is fickle or inconsistent then you have to ask,” is Christ fully moved in?” The love of God is STEADFAST. That means it is unwavering, it is not moved by circumstances, people, places, nor things. It is not seasonal. God will guard the gates of your heart as the scripture states, pure in heart invites God’s presence. Which means when you are led by God it is not up to you to guard your heart, He covers that place. We fail at matters of the heart because we are too busy trying to do His job. I know it may seem careless, but when we learn how to be led by Him, live in Him, and Him in us God will lead us and guide us into all of His truth, and not ours. Use wisdom I am not saying dive into a toxic situation or in a dangerous environment, but what I am saying is that when we begin to live in a freedom that God has given us and not our own independence the consequences are not as harsh if any. Why because he is governing that GATE!
Transformation brings Reformation of a Generation
Transformation brings Reformation of a Generation
After we have been changed it is our responsiblity to reach one, and teach one the ways of Christ as He is changing us, we should be changing the world in those areas of change. Verse 13 speaks so loud about becoming change agents just like that of the Great Commision in where as he is preparing to leave the disciples to take on the charge of creating disciples in the earth. It also speaks of the the New Testament covenant in Mark 12:30-31 to love God with ALL of your HEART and to LOVE your brother as ourselves. If our heart is not right our ability to transform and bring others to their needed change will be off in the distance. There are many that are waiting for us to get our gates in order.
“Think about this for every gate that you have conquered there is a nation attached for you to pursue for the Kingdom of God. You can do this, now let go and allow God to occupy every space in your heart.”
My Appeal is Simple,” Let Him In and You can Change the World because He has changed you!”
My Appeal is Simple,” Let Him In and You can Change the World because He has changed you!”
It is impossible to teach anything that we have not conquered and God is saying,” I am ready for you to win, are you?”
My closing scripture Hebrews 10:22
says,” let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.”
I give us this time to allow God to search our hearts that as He takes a tour He will show us.... that needs to go.... and that needs to go.... and that can go.... until that all we have left is nothing but space for Him to do as He pleases. My prayer is that God would take us deeper, higher, more free than we have ever been. That we would find a joy and a peace when we see others that have come from where we have been and have the grace to help them to be made transformed! Now tell your heart it is TIME TO SPRING FORWARD GOD YOU CAN HAVE IT!!! I throw myself and all other squatters out, and you can now take your residence, IT IS YOURS now let’s go and heal the hearts of nations that need us!!!!
