Giving Generously
Mark 12:41-44
Jesus sat down opposite the place
where the offerings were put and
watched the crowd putting their
money into the temple treasury. Many
rich people threw in large amounts.
But a poor widow came and put in two
very small copper coins, worth only a
few cents.
Mark 12:41-42
Calling his disciples to him, Jesus said,
“Truly I tell you, this poor widow has
put more into the treasury than all the
others. They all gave out of their
wealth; but she, out of her poverty, put
in everything—all she had to live on.”
Mark 12:43-44
Blessed are you who are poor,
for yours is the kingdom of God
Luke 6:20
But woe to you who are rich,
for you have already received
your comfort.
Luke 6:24
They all gave out of their wealth; but
she, out of her poverty, put in
everything—all she had to live on.”
Mark 12:44
All the believers were one in heart
and mind. No one claimed that any of
their possessions was their own, but
they shared everything they had. With
great power the apostles continued to
testify to the resurrection of the Lord
Jesus.
Acts 4:32-33
And God’s grace was so powerfully at
work in them all that there were no
needy persons among them. For from
time to time those who owned land or
houses sold them, brought the money
from the sales and put it at the
apostles’ feet, and it was distributed
to anyone who had need.
