2/5/20 Jesus Christ’s Announcement of the Holy Spirit’s Coming Theme Subject: The Holy Spirit in the time of Christ What does it really matter? How relevant is this? Truth, Trust, or Lies? Who do you believe? What offices or titles did Jesus have? The office of “Prophet” Deuteronomy 18:15-16 Moses continued, “The Lord your God will raise up a prophet like me from among your fellow Israelites. You must listen to him. For this is what you yourselves requested of the Lord your God when you were assembled at Mt. Sinai. You said, ‘Don’t let us hear the voice of the Lord our God anymore or see this blazing fire, for we will die.’ How do we know that this was talking about Jesus? Acts 3:20-22 Then times of refreshment will come from the presence of the Lord, and he will again send you Jesus, your appointed Messiah. For he must remain in heaven until the time for the final restoration of all things, as God promised long ago through his holy prophets.
