THE WORK OF EVERY INDIVIDUAL SHALL BE TRIED

These two texts of Scripture are addressed to two different classes of people: the first is to the saved; the second is to the unsaved. These two groups will not be judged at the same time. Scripture teaches that the millennial reign of Christ will separate their judgments.

I. The works of believers will be judged.

A. Christians will be judged at the Judgment Seat of Christ; .
B. This will be a judgment of the believer’s works, not his soul.
1. A test of obedience to the faith once delivered to the saints; .
2. A test of fidelity to Christ as a practical Christian.
C. This judgment of believers will determine their rewards. Rewards are the recompense for work done; . Those who do no work will receive no reward.
D. Many rewards are mentioned in the Bible.
1. Prize of the high calling; .
2. Reward of inheritance; .
3. Heirs of the Kingdom; .
4. Crown of life; ; .
5. Crown of righteousness; .
6. Crown of glory; .
7. Incorruptible crown; .

II. The works of unbelievers will be judged.

A. This is called the Great White Throne Judgment; .
1. It is a throne of eternal justice.
2. It is no human court; .
3. It is a court where records will be examined; ; .
B. At this judgment the sinner receives the final sentence for the condemnation already passed upon him. tells why a sinner is condemned.
C. The sinner is sentenced to the Lake of Fire; .
If your works were tried today, would your belief satisfy the highest demands of your conscience? Would it release you from sin in this life? Would it meet the needs of your soul at death?
