Me

How was deaner yesterday?
For me, the academic side of school has never been easy
I have struggled with procrastination (still bad at it)
Lack of attention span
My writing was weak
reading was weak
when i first came to school in grade 11 i barely knew where to put a coma
It took a lot of energy out of me

We

For some people, like me, School can be hard sometimes
It can take things out of you
at this moment it seems like it is only draining you and not refilling
It may feel like this is just something you have to get done and not what you get to do
Once I get out of high school, I will enjoy it so much more because I get to choose what I am going into
i get to choose where i am going
where im living
what im studying
In some aspects, it actually made it harder
new system of how to do things
new expectations
Im an adult now
held to a higher standard
need to write better
read faster
When you exert all this energy to new things or things youre not good at, it can make you feel quite empty

God

God never leaves you when you are feeling empty
Isaiah 40:31 NIV
but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
Isaiah 40:31

but those who hope in the LORD

will renew their strength.

They will soar on wings like eagles;

they will run and not grow weary,

they will walk and not be faint.

The New American Commentary: Isaiah 40–66 God Will Strengthen Those without Hope (40:27–31)

This trust in God will replace any false leaning on a person’s own strength

God can pour on the blessings in astonishing ways so that you’re ready for anything and everything, more than just ready to do what needs to be done.

As believers, we are called to have hope and trust in the Lord no matter what it is
Give him everthing that is going on in your life
Every note sung
Every tympany hit
Every basket made
Every painting painted
Do all to glorify God
This hope is an active dependance on God that patiently awaits his timing with confident expectation
We are on God’s time, not our own
This trust in God will replace any leaning on a persons own strength
This trust that I am speaking to is necessary for God to breathe life into us so that we may not grow weak, but we will be strong
we will be strong for him
what he wants us to do
who we are meant to be with
But I thought that we were speaking of hope, not trust
If we were to look back into the original text of Isaiah, which was written in Hebrew, the root of the word hope is key-v-A
and this can be interchanged with the word trust
know trust can be hard for some people, maybe you don’t trust your own parent, so how could you trust God with anything?
By trusting, it can be the key to unlocking God’s power
The New American Commentary: Isaiah 40–66 God Will Strengthen Those without Hope (40:27–31)

Trust enables people to walk the path (40:31) that God has chosen for their lives (whether it be pleasant or unpleasant) without growing weary or wanting to quit.

this enables us as believers to keep going
as long as we zone in on him and keep our eyes on Him
He will keep us going
he will not let us grow weary or faint
By giving all to God, by puting your trust in him…

God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.

Paul emphasized God’s favor, encouraging his audience to count on God to grant both their desire as well as what his plan is

God will never leave you when you are tired or in need, you may not see him but he is working all around you.
walking through dark tunnel not being able to see in front of us
God is the laturn that shows us one step in front so that we need to rely on him

You

What do you need hope for?
Where do you find that you are tired?
What do you think you need to give to god?
family?
Friends?
Music?
Athletics?
God wants to use you in spectacular ways, but the only way he can use us to the full extent is by having trust in him and hoping he knows what he is doing

We

But what can we do together as the body of Christ?
How can we work together in this journey with Jesus?
How can we grow together in having hope in God?
Or for some people, they may ask, whats the point?
there are people that are questioning, is God real?
Is this person/diety that we sing to and learn about worth my time?
all you see is war, disunity, distrust, and hypocrites
We need to be there for each other
We need to be there for each other
We need to pray with one another
We need to pray with one another
pray for our friends
our govenment
our neighbours
Instead of sitting back and hoping God will change your school and world, why not you step out in faith and lean on God for direction
Instead of sitting back and hoping God will change your school and world, why not you step out in faith and lean on God for direction
God has a plan for all of us
we may not be good at certain things
we need to hope and trust in God that he will use what we are good at to further his kingdom
Waiting room in the hospital
Since i wasn’t good at academics, I didnt know if i would ever be able to go to post-secondary school.
he uses my relational skills
We need to take that step out in faith and hope and trust in Him that he knows what he is doing
