Then the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you. And when he had so said, he shewed unto them his hands and his side. Then were the disciples glad, when they saw the Lord. Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you.
Introduction:
Here in this passage we have what may be the greatest words of the Savior that we have written down for us today. “as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you.”
This is a call to missions and this is a call to every believer. Please don’t take this as just a general message to the Church, or Missionaries, or the Pastor, or the deacons. If you are a “born again believer” this is a message for you personally.
Imagine right now that Christ is standing in front of you looking you into your eyeballs and says “as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you.”
Now with this in mind, let’s look at some things that were true for Christ and are also true for us also.
1. His Mandate Is Our Mandate
1. His Mandate Is Our Mandate
So what was the mandate of Christ? What did the father send the son to do? Well we see in
And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world.
It was a mission of Salvation.
When Jesus heard it, he saith unto them, They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.
The mandate of Christ was the salvation men, women, boys and girls.
So what is our mandate? It is the same as Christs’ the salvation of souls!
He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed,
Shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.
This is our job, our duty, our mandate.
Don worry about who the next president is. You should vote but don’t worry about it. Let Congress run the country, let the ballers ball, and the actors get famous, and if your smart you will go soul winning.
Invest in what is eternal. the souls of men! That’s what missions is all about!
Transition:
Not only is his mandate our mandate but notice also
2. His Message Is to Be Our Message
2. His Message Is to Be Our Message
The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul:
The testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple.
What converts the soul? the law of the Lord, the Bible! we are to use the gospel to show sinners their need for a Savior.
If you have ever lied your a lier. Stolen your a thief. Been angry with someone your a murderer. Looked at someone with lust your an adulterer. and you must face God on judgment day.
You have broken God’s moral perfect law and you must answer for you crimes. The punishment for the violation of the law of God is a place called Hell. You say “Oh but Brother Trent God is a good God and he will forgive me because I’m a good person. He wont send me to Hell”
Friends, God is not judging you on how good you are he is judging you on the fact that you violated his law. Just like a Judge judges a murderer on the crime he has commited not how good he has lived his life, God is the same.
So God is a good and just Judge and must punish those who have broken his law. the Bible says “all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone:” Because God is Just he must punish you for the sins commited against his law.
But there is good news. The bible says in
The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
If you have a fine of $250,000 dollars and someone comes in and pays that fine for you the judge and legally let you go. And this is exactly what Christ did for you on the Cross.
We just need to repent of our sins and transfer our trust from ourselves to Christ ALONE to save us, and he will. God says he is “not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.”
Like one preacher said “I don’t want to be famous for anything except for preaching the old gospel.” This is the Gospel that man has sinned and he can be forgive by repenting and trusting in Christ ALONE to save him.
This was the message of Christ and this is to be our message as well.

Notice lastly with me.
3. His Motive Is to Be Our Motive
3. His Motive Is to Be Our Motive
What motivated Christ?
1) He was motivated my obedience.
But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
Phili
I’m so glade Christ made himself of no reputation. He wasn’t concerned about what others thought about him. He was only concerned with the souls of men. We all could learn something form this!
2) He was also motivated my love.
We see many times in the scriptures how Christ was moved with compassion because of the lost.
(Optional depending on time) “We have a place called “La Bufa” In Zacatecas that over looks the city there in our town. You can see the entire city from there and all the cathedrals and the thousands of people. Many times i go up there I look over the city and just think of all the lost people in our city that we are trying to reach and many times I have just wept for the great need of the gospel.”

Do you love the lost? Are you motivated by that love?
Conclusion:
As we close today I want you to imagine with me one last time Christ, standing in front of you with both hands on your shoulders, looking you in the eyes says “As my Father hath sent me, even so, send I you.”
My challenge for you today is this.
Don’t be disobedient to Christ. Surrender your life to him in total surrender and be obedient to his command!
And if there is someone here today that is not Born again and doesn’t know Christ as your Savior. I want to remind you that even tho you have broken the Holy moral law of God and you deserve the punishment of Hell, God sent his Son to die on the cross to forgive you of your sins If you will repent of your sins and trust in Christ alone for salvation.
