1) Processional

2) Intro Remarks

“God blessed the broken road that led us here today.”
Desire for Frank and Nancy to express their love for each other, as a direct reflection of their love for God.
Each is a professed believer, Christian, and together they are desiring to be known by their family and their church family as husband and wife, in the eyes of God. Important to them.

3) Frank Remarks

4) Prayer

5) Identity

- the two shall become one flesh
No longer Frank, Nancy
Now ONE - Frank and Nancy - new creation of God
Salvation, likewise, is a new creation ()
The past is the past - wise to learn from it
The past is the past - it does NOT define who we are
New identity in Christ, that is the BIG DEAL
Challenge to people to identify you as who you are NOW
who God has transformed, followers of Christ
Frank - follower of Christ; Nancy - follower of Christ

6) Biblical Marriage - Challenge to Couple

- Imitate Christ - Marriage like Christ and His Church
Wife (v. 22) - subject to, submit to, husband
Jesus, - Jesus willingly followed the will of the Father - He submitted (check His prayer in the Garden)
Husband (v. 25) - Live your wife - selfless, give self to her
Jesus - loved the church, died for it, died for all, He gave Himself, completely
Be like Christ
Frank - love your wife, give self completely - LEAD spiritually (sorely missing today)
Nancy - follow your husband, help him, work with him
PICTURE OF CHRIST - His love - the Gospel
When people see your marriage, they should see Christ

VOWS

Frank and Nancy, the vows you are about to take are not to be taken without careful thought and prayer. For in them you are committing yourselves exclusively the one to the other for as long as you both shall live. This love is not to be diminished by difficult circumstances, and it is only to be dissolved by death.
BOTH of you, passionately love Christ more than your spouse
Marriage Vows
I, Frank, take you, Nancy, to be my wife, to honor, love and cherish for the rest of our lives.
I, Nancy, take you, Frank, to be my husband, to honor, love and cherish for the rest of our lives.
Rings
Frank:
I give you this ring, which has no end, as a symbol of my never-ending devotion and love for you. May we be joined together as one, from this time forward, in everything we do.

7) Pronouncement and Prayer

For as much as Frank and Nancy have consented together in holy wedlock, and have witnessed the same before God and these witnesses, and have pledged their faithfulness each to the other, and have pledged the same by the giving and receiving each of a ring, by the authority invested in me as a minister of the gospel I pronounce that they are, in God’s eyes, husband and wife together. “Those that God has joined together, let no man put asunder.”
You may kiss your bride! (Let’s Pray)

8) Prayer

Now it is my happy privilege to introduce Frank and Nancy, this couple, to you, and husband and wife.
