James 1:2–4 NASB95
2 Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, 3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. 4 And let endurance have its perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.
James 1:2–4 RVR95BTO
The various trials, the testing of our faith produces endurance..

Let Me Tell You a Story About Endurance

Sir Ernest Henry Shackleton, born 1874. A Commander of the Royal Victorian Order, an Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, a master mariner by the age of 24, and Secretary of the Royal Scottish Geographical Society at the age of 30.
In 1907-1909 he and 3 other companions set the record for the farthest south expedition to only 97 miles from the south pole. But that’s not even close to his greatest accomplishment.
In 1914 Shackleton launched the Trans-Antarctic Expedition aboard the ship Endurance. This would surely become a voyage that would test the endurance of Shackleton and his whole crew. On January 19, 1915 the ship became stuck in a pack of ice. A month later the ship was still frozen into the ice and Shackleton realized they would not be freed until the Spring, so the crew turned the ship into a winter station. By October the pressure of the ice had begun to crush the hull, so the crew abandoned the ship and camped on the ice. The ship sunk on November 21, 2015. His crew marched and camped on the ice until March 17th, all in hopes that the ice would float them to safety. In April the crew launched their lifeboats and headed towards land. They spent 5 days at sea, in total 346 miles from where the endurance had sunk, 497 days, adrift at sea before the crew first stepped on land on Elephant Island. From there, Shackleton with 5 other men, launched a 720 nautical mile open boat journey to the South Georgia whaling stations, IN A LIFE BOAT! (Considered the single greatest feat of open boat navigation ever) The six men spent 15 days in stormy seas, only to come within sight of South Georgia and have to wait out a hurricane, a hurricane that sunk a 500-ton ship. Once they landed, Shackleton and 2 of the men traversed 32 miles over mountains in 36 hours to reach help. Shackleton saved all of his men. THEN he headed back out to save another crew that had been a drift at sea for many months.
In his 1956 address to the British Science Association, Sir Raymond Priestley, one of his contemporaries, said "Scott for scientific method, Amundsen for speed and efficiency but when disaster strikes and all hope is gone, get down on your knees and pray for Shackleton"
But away from his expeditions, away from the adventure in normal everyday life, Shackleton struggled miserably. Rick Lawrence describes the last years of Shackleton’s life as “unbearably and heartbreakingly human”. Shackleton died in over $1 million in debt, in alcoholism, and a failed business man. He suffered a heart attack that finally killed him while out to sea trying to navigate around Antarctica.
Rick Lawrence (Sifted) writes about the tiny things that destroy mighty men...
The Damoclean sword (“the threat of imminent harm”) that is Shackleton’s story reminds me that it’s so often not the big things that bring us down; even we midgets somehow summon the courage to face obvious life threatening challenges. Rather, it’s the everyday holocausts that carry the leverage to take us out—the sucker punches that buffet us when all we’re trying to do is raise our kids, work our jobs, and make sure we have perpetual access to a good four-dollar cup of coffee.

10 Then He continued by saying to them, “Nation will rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom, 11 and there will be great earthquakes, and in various places plagues and famines; and there will be terrors and great signs from heaven. 12 “But before all these things, they will lay their hands on you and will persecute you, delivering you to the synagogues and prisons, bringing you before kings and governors for My name’s sake. 13 “It will lead to an opportunity for your testimony. 14 “So make up your minds not to prepare beforehand to defend yourselves; 15 for I will give you utterance and wisdom which none of your opponents will be able to resist or refute. 16 “But you will be betrayed even by parents and brothers and relatives and friends, and they will put some of you to death, 17 and you will be hated by all because of My name. 18 “Yet not a hair of your head will perish. 19 “By your endurance you will gain your lives.

Theological Lexicon of the New Testament ὑπομένω, ὑπομονη

hypomenō, to endure; to wait expectantly; hypomonē, endurance

perdurar, esperar expectante

ὑπομονή hupomonē; from 5278; a remaining behind, a patient enduring:—endurance(7), patient enduring(1), perseverance(21), steadfastness(3).

Plato asked, “In what does courage (andreia) consist?” and answered that it is “a certain endurance of soul (karteria tēs psychēs) … one of the noblest things.… It is endurance (karteria) accompanied by wisdom that is noble”

Theological Lexicon of the New Testament ὑπομένω, ὑπομονη

Socrates observes, “In war, a man endures (karterounta andra) and is ready to fight because he calculates reasonably that others will help him, that the enemy is less numerous … that he has a positional advantage. Would you say that this man, whose endurance of soul relies so much on reason and preparation, is more courageous than the man on the other side who sustains his attack and endures (hypomenein te kai karterein)?”

Theological Lexicon of the New Testament ὑπομένω, ὑπομονη

Aristotle notes.2 He makes hypomonē a virtue, because it is a noble thing to keep to the mean in difficult circumstances: “one endures (hypomenōn) despite the fear that one feels … for the beauty of the deed.”3

Theological Lexicon of the New Testament ὑπομένω, ὑπομονη

But in reading the LXX, one enters a different semantic world altogether. For one thing, all the occurrences of the substantive hypomonē translate the Hebrew verb qāwâh (in the piel) or one of its derivatives tiqwâh, miqweh, Hebrew terms that signify expectant waiting, intense desire;19 for another, this hope usually has God as its object: “My hope is in you (Yahweh)”

Theological Lexicon of the New Testament ὑπομένω, ὑπομονη

This is not what we today call theological hope, but a constancy in desire that overcomes the trial of waiting, a soul attitude that must struggle to persevere, a waiting that is determined20 and victorious because it trusts in God

Theological Lexicon of the New Testament ὑπομένω, ὑπομονη

One waits on God for everything.23 This is a permanent disposition of the soul: “Our souls wait upon Yahweh” (Ps 33:20); “in you do I hope all day long” (Ps 25:5)

Samson…Obedience
A mighty Judge of the people of Israel,
GIFTED with great strength. PLAGUE by lust
All Samson had to do was obey. Obedience would have been the key to defeating the ordinary battle of lust and sustaining the might of the Lord in his life.
let's have perpetual access to four people. Cup of coffee in dollars.
Moses… Fellowship
A mighty prophet of God. Gifted with miracles, he saw the red sea open, he saw God bring water from a rock. But he was tired, he became frustrated and angry. This normal ordinary frustration kept him from the promised land. Moses needed to rely on his support system, an accountability partner. A-Aron
Peter… Focus
Paul...
Peter walked on water but the regular actions of the wave brought in DOUBT. Once he stepped out on to the water, even if only for a moment, he stood on water, but regular doubt did him in.
Peter just needed the proper focus to stay on the water.
Paul… Grace
Paul… saw Jesus, Spoke in tounges of angels and men. This mighty man of God who had cast out demons and walked out of jails… this man grew weary and pleaded with the Lord, take this from me. A man acquainted with God, dwindled by some ordinary issue.
Paul’s mind needed the renewal of the Grace of God.
These mighty men, with mighty ordinary battles that beat them to almost breaking points.

Wait and See!

Psalm 40:1–3 NASB95
1 I waited patiently for the Lord; And He inclined to me and heard my cry. 2 He brought me up out of the pit of destruction, out of the miry clay, And He set my feet upon a rock making my footsteps firm. 3 He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God; Many will see and fear And will trust in the Lord.
Psalm 40:1–3 RVR95BTO
The waiting produces the action of Jehova!

Yahweh: Jehovah, the LORD as an euphemism for Adonai, most versions the name of the one true God, with a focus on sure existence and His relationship to his covenant persons and peoples (Ex 3:15), see also 3363

And His action brought forth a new song in your mouth. This song becomes your testimony! A song of praise to God (Elohim)
Your song will become the seed of faith for someone else.
Psalm 46:10 ESV
10 “Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!”
Psalm 46
Psalm 46:10 RVR60
10 Estad quietos, y conoced que yo soy Dios; Seré exaltado entre las naciones; enaltecido seré en la tierra.

Your testimony, will become the faith seed others!
2 Chronicles 16:9 NASB95
9 “For the eyes of the Lord move to and fro throughout the earth that He may strongly support those whose heart is completely His. You have acted foolishly in this. Indeed, from now on you will surely have wars.”
2 Chronicles 16:9 RVR95BTO
9 Porque los ojos de Jehová contemplan toda la tierra, para mostrar su poder a favor de los que tienen un corazón perfecto para con él. Locamente has procedido en esto; por eso de aquí en adelante habrá más guerra contra ti».
