Jesus, The Son of God

Matthew 16:16 ESV
16 Simon Peter replied, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”
He has made it possible for us to adopted into the family of God.

Jesus Saves

Jesus relates to us in many ways. First and foremost he is our savior. His death, burial and resurrection has provided all thats necessary to graft us into the royal family of God.
1 John 4:14–15 ESV
14 And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent his Son to be the Savior of the world. 15 Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God.
Jesus relates to us in many ways. He is our savior, his death paid the debt we owed to God the Father because of our sin.
In Christ we are co-heirs, not slaves of God, but sons and daughters of God.
I think it is Christian 101 to say that Jesus is our savior. What are some other ways Jesus’ death has affected us?
If we are adopted into the family of God, that makes Jesus our brother. We share the same father. Because Jesus brings us to the father.

Jesus Syncs Us w/ the Father

Sync defined
in a state in which two or more people or things move or happen together at the same time and speed
in a state in which two or more people or things agree with or match one another and work together properly
John 2:19–21 ESV
19 Jesus answered them, “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.” 20 The Jews then said, “It has taken forty-six years to build this temple, and will you raise it up in three days?” 21 But he was speaking about the temple of his body.
John
We have talked a great deal about the temple over the past several weeks going thru Haggai. We understand that the temple symbolized the presence of God in their lives and on rare occasions God dwelt there in the Holy Place to meet with his people.
Jesus came to take the place of the temple as the meeting place with God.
The bibles says in
Colossians 2:9 ESV
9 For in him the whole fullness of deity dwells bodily,
Where we meet Jesus, we meet God.
Jesus is our mediator
1 Timothy 2:5 ESV
5 For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus,
The temple in Jerusalem is no longer the center of our faith, Jesus is.
Do you want to see God?
John 14:9 ESV
9 Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long, and you still do not know me, Philip? Whoever has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?
Do you want to receive God?
Matthew 10:40 ESV
40 “Whoever receives you receives me, and whoever receives me receives him who sent me.
Matthew
Do you want to have the presence of God in worship?
1 John 2:23 ESV
23 No one who denies the Son has the Father. Whoever confesses the Son has the Father also.
Do you want to honor the father?
John 5:23 ESV
23 that all may honor the Son, just as they honor the Father. Whoever does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent him.
He gives us all access pass to the Father. He also does something else for us. He provides all things we need to do the will of the Father. Jesus shares all things.

Jesus Shares All Things

Romans 8:32 ESV
32 He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things?
What does that mean? We know this doesn’t mean a life of ease and comfort because of what we read in
Romans 8:36 ESV
36 As it is written, “For your sake we are being killed all the day long; we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.”
But read
Romans 8:37 ESV
37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.
So what does it mean?
He will give us all things that are good for us.
He will give us all things we need to be conformed to the image of Christ.
He will give us all things we need to obtain everlasting joy.
Philippians 4:19 ESV
19 And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.
Now realize all things does include “hunger” and “need”.
Philippians 4:12–13 ESV
12 I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need. 13 I can do all things through him who strengthens me.
Philippians 4:13-14
God will give us all we need to do His will, give him glory and attain everlasting joy.
God will give us all we need to do His will, give him glory and attain everlasting joy.
