The Discernment V. 3
The Discernment V. 3
Jesus discerns Nicodemus’ unasked question and answers it for him.
Jesus knew what was in man. This is His divine omniscience.
But Jesus on his part did not entrust himself to them, because he knew all people and needed no one to bear witness about man, for he himself knew what was in man.

Jesus knows what you came for, He knows your heart and he know exactly what you need. He can see your fear, but he can also see the desires of your heart.
The Misunderstanding V.4
The Misunderstanding V.4
Nicodemus misunderstands what Jesus says, just as the Jews did in chapter 2 “Destroy this temple and in three days, I will raise it up..
It is demonstrated by his questions.
He is too old.
Can you go into your mother’s womb again?
Sometimes we can misunderstand, because we think change is to happen naturally and not spiritually.
God wants to change how you think, how you feel and how you act.
The Explanation V. 5-7
The Explanation V. 5-7
Jesus explains what is meant to be born again.
Born of water, is the water baptism of John. This was a baptism of repentance. One must repent, be baptized and then filled with the Holy Spirit.
Whats born of the flesh can only produce the works of the flesh, whether its educated flesh, baptized flesh, circumcised flesh, or moral flesh.
Whats born of the spirit will produce spiritual works.
Don’t be amazed is meant for Nicodemus as well as the rest of the Sanhedrin.
But all of us have a need to be born again from above.
The Illustration V. 8
The Illustration V. 8
Jesus helps Nicodemus to see the spiritual through a natural illustration.
The wind and the spiritual work the same:
Soveriegnly- blows where it wishes
Mysteriously
Effectively- you hear its sound, you know its there
Mysteriously- but you don’t know where it comes from or where it goes.
All of us at one point or another were antagonist to Christ. We did it our way. We eased our way to Him out of fear of what others might think. However, He knew and know what we really need. We misunderstood, but thank God, He was able to help us better understand it.
We need to be born from above.
We need to repent of our sins and turn to Christ.
So He can clean us up, turn us around and allow us to enter His kingdom.
