Introduction:
1. Last week we talked about...
A. God and Christ as Our Confidence.
5 For You are my hope, O Lord God; You are my trust from my youth.
1. Our confidence should not be in ourselves but in God.
4 And we have such trust through Christ toward God. 5 Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think of anything as being from ourselves, but our sufficiency is from God,
B. Confidence in God will give us boldness and confidence through faith.
11 according to the eternal purpose which He accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord, 12 in whom we have boldness and access with confidence through faith in Him.

1. The Value of Our Confidence in God.
A. Confidence in God assures us he will complete His work in us.
3 I thank my God upon every remembrance of you, 4 always in every prayer of mine making request for you all with joy, 5 for your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now, 6 being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ;
B. Confidence in God motivates us for christian living.
28 And now, little children, abide in Him, that when He appears, we may have confidence and not be ashamed before Him at His coming.
C. Confidence in God protects us from fear.
1. Fear of Bondage.
2. Fear of Death.
3. Fear of those who do evil.
4. Fear of the Judgment Day.
2. Confidence in God brings great value and today we continue.
Body:
1. The Value in Confidence in God is in the results it brings.
A. Confidence in God Results in Answered Prayers.
14 Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. 15 And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.

B. Confidence in God Results in Blessings.
7 “Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, And whose hope is the Lord.
1. God will not forget your labor of love.
9 But, beloved, we are confident of better things concerning you, yes, things that accompany salvation, though we speak in this manner. 10 For God is not unjust to forget your work and labor of love which you have shown toward His name, in that you have ministered to the saints, and do minister.
Heb. 6.
2. God will not forget His promises.
35 Therefore do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward. 36 For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise:
Heb. 10.
C. Confidence in God Results in Divine Help.
14 Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. 15 For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. 16 Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
D. Confidence in God Results in Entering into His Presence.
19 Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus, 20 by a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh, 21 and having a High Priest over the house of God, 22 let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.
