Scripture: 2 Chro 20:1-30

4 important lessons to learn in time of crisis

1. Be CAREFUL (vv.1-4)

A. Be Careful when bad news comes (vv.1-2)

• Do what is necessary. Take all essential precautions.
• Remain calm and steadfast - not panicky, shaken or fearful
• Pray - not waver in faith

B. Be God-focused and not crisis-focused (vv.3-4)

• Seek help from God
• Proclaim a fast
• Gather for prayer

2. Be PRAYERFUL (vv.5-17)

A. Proclaim Who God is and What He can do (vv.5-8)

B. Declare what you believe (v.9)

C. Acknowledge your need of Him (vv.12-13)

D. Trust Him for breakthrough, deliverance and miracle (vv.14-17)

• He will send you a messenger (v.14)
• He will give you a word of encouragement and assurance (v.15)
• He will tell you what to do (vv.16-17)

3. Be HOPEFUL (vv.18-24)

A. Worship and adore God (vv.18-19)

B. Have faith in Him and obey Him (v.20)

C. Sing and Praise Him (vv.21-22a)

D. Expect Him to move mightily on your behalf (vv.22b-24)

4. Be GRATEFUL (vv.25-30)

Valley of Berakah = Praise and Blessing

A. You will be blessed by God (v.25)

B. You will bless Him with praise and thanksgiving (vv.26-28)

C. You will enjoy His peace and rest (vv.29-30)

• Humble yourself before the Lord
• Acknowledge your need of Him
• Have faith in Him
• Trust Him for protection and deliverance
• Thank Him for His love and mercy
