Matthew wants the reader to know about, believe in, and follow Jesus. Jesus is the climax of God’s promises (covenants). God chooses to act on his promises in his own way and in his own time. God uses the weak, strong, righteous, unrighteous, Jew, and Gentile to issue in the Messiah. Matthew wants us to see the grace of God to all men weaved within the very DNA of Christ.
