Note that many people never go past to see what else Jesus said about believing or not believing in Him. Read aloud to the class, then ask: “What did Jesus say about who is condemned, why people will go to Jesus, the Light, and be saved, and who will come to the Light?” Emphasize that John stressed a stark contrast between those who believe and those who refuse to believe. Christians are in conflict with the ungodly forces of this world, so as we move toward the coming of the Lord, we must be prepared to live as God’s people in a world that, by nature, is hostile to the gospel.
