Cultural Conflicts & Challenges in Christ (part 2)
Cultural Conflicts & Challenges in Christ (part 2)
Last week, part 1 of our series, Cultural Conflicts & Challenges in Christ; we examined the topic FASTING.
This week, part 2 of our series, we will examine the topic SABBATH.
It is amazing how these two topics are controversial today. Which should inform us that CONTROVERSIAL CULTURAL CONFLICTS will always exit and will QUESTION and DEMAND a RESPONSE from CHRIST (GOD) and those who declare themselves as Believers, Disciples, Followers/Children, Servants, Ambassadors, Apostles, Prophets, Evangelist, Pastor-Teachers, Elders and Bishops of God and His Body the Church!
What we must do, as represenatives of God is to realize that we are members of a larger Body and movement than we ourselves.
We must translate the involvement of “ME, MYSELF, and I) into a universal/American CHRISTIAN CHURCH coalition that will unite, research, study and pray together, as the believers in Berea did daily!
The Church/The Ekklesia “The Called Out Ones” should address as many “issues of life” that bring concern about the well-being of people and how we as a community and country, need the Divine Intervention of GOD to HELP and SAVE us all from DESTRUCTION and DISASTER!
The truth about why all of the controvesty about our attitutudes (HEART & FEELINGS) and behaviors exist in all of our SOCIETY/CULTURE in every community and country is because; “When We Do not OBEY God, then WE are inviting the curse of the EVIL ONE, who STEALS, KILLS, and DESTROYS Everyone, everything and everyplace we have enjoyed and loved, even ourselves if we fail to take heed!
My assignment today, is to encourage you to be a represenative of God, by learning what Jesus did, and realize that He has empowered all of us to Love God and each other.
Stop focusing on your failures, because everyone has, and will have enemies who will keep watch and even accompany your location; and become a thorn to your side and progress and family and friends and ministry and success!

Common ground or public places are the kinds of places where the enemies of Christ confronted Him, and today, your enemies will comfortably confront you.
Location is everything, especially in the 21st century, so your CRITICS will search for any Christian on social media, mainstream media, newspaper articles and advertisement, and any types of published works (such as books, magazines and articles) to create controversy.
In this text, One SABBATH Day, was a topic of conflict!
Besides breaking a once practiced religious law, to a specific group of people, are you amazed how others look for opportunity to confront and challenge you about God’s requirements, when His will conflicts with their interest?

24 But the Pharisees said to Jesus, “Look, why are they breaking the law by harvesting grain on the Sabbath?”

Note how the position of certain groups of individuals can represent both a religious, legal and political type of argument in various communities, cultures and communities?
What kind of issues or topics currently present conflict and/or a challenge to Christ, Christians and the Church?

25 Jesus said to them, “Haven’t you ever read in the Scriptures what David did when he and his companions were hungry?
25 Jesus said to them, “Haven’t you ever read in the Scriptures what David did when he and his companions were hungry?
Notice how Jesus in this scenario, does not refers to His authority, as the only begotten “Son of God” who came from The Father in Heaven, but directed His detractors to the Holy Scriptures?
Like Christ, properly directing those who raise controversy about those “Issues of Life” that cause conflict with their views and positions, to affirm their ACKNOWLEDGEMENT and OBEDIENCE to the Will of God, by the Word of God!
How possible or likely is it for Christians or anyone, to effectively PROCLAIM what pleases God, if they are not actively involved themselves in studying the Holy Scriptures with other Christians in your faith community?
15 Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

26 He went into the house of God (during the days when Abiathar was high priest) and broke the law by eating the sacred loaves of bread that only the priests are allowed to eat. He also gave some to his companions.”

It is imperative, that we understand as much history as possible!
History from God’s Holy Scriptures
History about creation of Heaven and earth and all creation
History about White Supremacy and the Oppression and Destruction of other people and cultures
History of the World and about other Cultures and Practices
History about our own ethnicity and culture
History about the enemies of God and the people of God
History about Jesus and the Church as the Body of Christ
John 8:12-59, What insights do you conclude about the conflict and confrontation from this passage and how does These Holy Scriptures inform you about the enemies of God and you?
32 And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
How do you understand WHOM and what is really TRUTH? What does the Holy Scriptures states about TRUTH compared to what our culture, community and country says what is TRUTH? What are you willing to believe and and do, why?

Unfortunately, most individuals has been led to believe the negative reports about God. It is only God who really loves everybody and wants each individual to spend eternity with Him!
The commandments of Jesus, as the commandment from God were meant for our benefit, and not to create a hardship for anyone.

ADDITIONAL SCRIPTURES FOR STUDY, REFLECTION AND HIGHLIGHT YOUR BIBLE FOR FUTURE DISCUSSIONS:
1 So the creation of the heavens and the earth and everything in them was completed. 2 On the seventh day God had finished his work of creation, so he rested from all his work. 3 And God blessed the seventh day and declared it holy, because it was the day when he rested from all his work of creation.
8 “Remember to observe the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. 9 You have six days each week for your ordinary work, 10 but the seventh day is a Sabbath day of rest dedicated to the Lord your God. On that day no one in your household may do any work. This includes you, your sons and daughters, your male and female servants, your livestock, and any foreigners living among you. 11 For in six days the Lord made the heavens, the earth, the sea, and everything in them; but on the seventh day he rested. That is why the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and set it apart as holy.
12 “Observe the Sabbath day by keeping it holy, as the Lord your God has commanded you. 13 You have six days each week for your ordinary work, 14 but the seventh day is a Sabbath day of rest dedicated to the Lord your God. On that day no one in your household may do any work. This includes you, your sons and daughters, your male and female servants, your oxen and donkeys and other livestock, and any foreigners living among you. All your male and female servants must rest as you do. 15 Remember that you were once slaves in Egypt, but the Lord your God brought you out with his strong hand and powerful arm. That is why the Lord your God has commanded you to rest on the Sabbath day.
27 Then Jesus said to them, “The Sabbath was made to meet the needs of people, and not people to meet the requirements of the Sabbath. 28 So the Son of Man is Lord, even over the Sabbath!”
12 No one has seen God at any time. If we love one another, God abides in us, and His love has been perfected in us.
2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and keep His commandments.
14 We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love the brethren. He who does not love his brother abides in death.
20 If someone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen?
10 He who loves his brother abides in the light, and there is no cause for stumbling in him.
28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.
1 Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and everyone who loves Him who begot also loves him who is begotten of Him.
6 This is love, that we walk according to His commandments. This is the commandment, that as you have heard from the beginning, you should walk in it.
6 In mercy and truth
Atonement is provided for iniquity;
And by the fear of the Lord one departs from evil.
