The 4 Different Types of Love
4 Love is patient, love is kind. Love does not envy, is not boastful, is not arrogant,
5 is not rude, is not self-seeking, is not irritable, and does not keep a record of wrongs.
6 Love finds no joy in unrighteousness but rejoices in the truth.
7 It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
8 Love never ends. But as for prophecies, they will come to an end; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will come to an end.
1 Corinthians 13:4-8
In his book Mere Christianity, C.S. Lewis wrote, "Do not waste your time bothering whether you 'love' your neighbor act as if you did. As soon as we do this, we find one of the great secrets. When you are behaving as if you loved someone, you will presently come to love him. If you injure someone you dislike, you will find yourself disliking him more. If you do him a good turn, you will find yourself disliking him less."

This is the kind of love we associate with Valentine’s Day. It is by far not the only kind of love, but it is the one that sells chocolates and flowers.
A love between a parent and a child.

This is a very fierce love. There is not much we would not do for our children. They are our legacy. We long to see them walk in the reverence and respect of the Lord.

d. Now this portion of scripture is used to justify homosexuality. It does nothing of the sort. There is a bond that develops between warriors. It is something that those who have not experienced can not fully understand

4. A love God has for His creation.

Conclusion:
The other loves are important but this one really does take the cake. This is where the other three types of love spring from.
The Lord would say to you today, “I am the lover of your soul”. I am the Great I am the the beginning and the end.
When Mike and I were dating we would write snail mail. We lived 2& 1/2 hours apart. We started out writing letters. But then Mike had the brilliant idea of using cassette tapes. Our kids probably do not even know what it is. Well I would look forward to it coming in the mail.
This is what the Bible is. It is God’s love letter to us. 66 books that reveal different attributes of our heavenly father. Words that say:
20 So he got up and went to his father. But while the son was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion. He ran, threw his arms around his neck, and kissed him.
10 I tell you, in the same way, there is joy in the presence of God’s angels over one sinner who repents.”
3 the Lord appeared to him from far away. I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore, I have continued to extend faithful love to you.
