God fulfills his promise to judge Israel for their sins using the Babylonians.
Notice how the verse says that Nebuchadnezzar took captive the people and the vessels of God.
He didn’t just take anyone into captivity he took the brightest and the best of Israel
Kings fought in the name of their God, so victory was credited to a King in the name of the Kingdom’s deities.
On the surface it looks like the Nation of Israel are both spiritually and naturally defeated and thus their God has been defeated
Looks can be Deceiving
Gods is Sovereign and in Control
