Psalm 90:1–4 NKJV
1 Lord, You have been our dwelling place in all generations. 2 Before the mountains were brought forth, Or ever You had formed the earth and the world, Even from everlasting to everlasting, You are God. 3 You turn man to destruction, And say, “Return, O children of men.” 4 For a thousand years in Your sight Are like yesterday when it is past, And like a watch in the night.

I. Know God’s Title

Psalm 90:1 NKJV
1 Lord, You have been our dwelling place in all generations.
Moses prayed Lord, (Owner, Ruler, and Master)
He identified God as his Lord
He addressed God as his Lord
Through all the generations,
During the time of Abraham: Still Owner
During the time of Isaac: Still Ruler
During the time of Jacob: Still Master
During their time in Egypt: Still Owner, Ruler, and Master
During the Exodus: Still Owner, Ruler and Master
When things are good still Lord
When things are bad still Lord
When things are difficult still Lord
When things are easy still Lord
What about you, my brothers and sister? Do you know that He is Lord?
When children, family, the job, the community, the politicians, the courts, the country, etc.
Have you submitted to Him?

II. Know that God is Trustworthy

Psalm 90:1 NKJV
1 Lord, You have been our dwelling place in all generations.
Deuteronomy 33:27 NKJV
27 The eternal God is your refuge, And underneath are the everlasting arms; He will thrust out the enemy from before you, And will say, ‘Destroy!’

III. Know that God is Timeless

Psalm 90:2 NKJV
2 Before the mountains were brought forth, Or ever You had formed the earth and the world, Even from everlasting to everlasting, You are God.
Psalm 90:3–4 NKJV
3 You turn man to destruction, And say, “Return, O children of men.” 4 For a thousand years in Your sight Are like yesterday when it is past, And like a watch in the night.
At creation, before the mountains were created
Before the earth and the world formed, from everlasting
Regardless of what happens
1000 years like yesterday, like a few hours
2 Peter 3:8 NKJV
8 But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
Psalm 90:10 NKJV
10 The days of our lives are seventy years; And if by reason of strength they are eighty years, Yet their boast is only labor and sorrow; For it is soon cut off, and we fly away.
The shortness of life (5-6, 10), sinfulness of life (7-8), sorrow of life (9-10). James expressed this fact in
James 4:14 NKJV
14 whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away.
when he said, “Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.” We can see you today and you be gone tomorrow. The fool that had planned out God got a message from the Lord in Luke 12:20 saying, “Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?” We must remember like the Psalmist who said in
Psalm 31:15 NKJV
15 My times are in Your hand; Deliver me from the hand of my enemies, And from those who persecute me.
“My times are in thy hand”
Our Forgetfulness surrounding Time.
Psalm 90:5 NKJV
5 You carry them away like a flood; They are like a sleep. In the morning they are like grass which grows up:
Become so consumed with the here and now that time that passes by. We become as it were sleep. We are wasting away the time we do have to give God the glory.
Ultimate response to look to the Timeless One
life is unpleasant and uncertain, the Moses says Lord
Psalm 90:12 NKJV
12 So teach us to number our days, That we may gain a heart of wisdom.
Look to the Lord, Look to the Lord God, look to Him
for instruction.
This is something we don’t do well. Often we don’t learn this lesson well. I have seen people weep before the Lord until they received what they wanted only to return to their old way of living. There were saints that could make it to church when they didn’t have much. But now that they have they too busy. Too busy to pray, too busy to attend S.S., too busy to attend Bible Study, to busy to study, too working overtime, too busy sleeping, too busy to worship with the saints, too busy having fun. When will we make the proper response and say TEACH ME LORD. Not just so I can get blessed but that I may be a blessing.
Because He is the Timeless One
I will call Him
Because He is the Ageless One, Trust Him
Because He is the Dateless One. Submit to Him
Because He is the Deathless One, Depend on Him
Because He is the Endless One
He is the Forever One, therefore
He will outlast
He will outlive
He will outstay
He will endure
His love is unending
His grace is unfailing
His mercy is unceasing
His peace is uninterrupted
Because He is permanent
Because He is perpetual
Because He is perennial
Because He is indestructible
Because He is indissoluble
Because He is indefectible
Because He is indefeasible
What He offers is to His children is also
His
His Inheritance
Incorruptible, undefiled, and it does not fade away
