I'm glad that you're here today. If you have your Bibles turn with me to John chapter 8 or going to spend a little bit of time there this morning and I hope you guys had a good Valentine's weekend and Good Friday and we are back in the swing of things today. And it's good to be in God's house. It's good to be able just to sing to the Lord and about him and I'm super pumped about this morning in just a moment. We're going to have a baptism today. And so that makes things even better and excited about that and just being part of Bryson's life and dude. I'm super excited for you, man. And I'm thankful that the reality is this God changes lives. And man, we take a look at whether it's an adult or whether it's a child. We know that God is doing things in people's lives and when he changes them we're never the same and so I'm I'm super pumped about that. We're going to do that and just a bit. But before we jump into that we're going to just take a look at what God's word has to say about our lives and the message today. Is this leaving a life of sin? You may be here today and say well, why do I need to know that you know, I've been walking with the Lord for many years. The reason why this is so important is because some of you are here today and that hasn't happened in your life yet. You're still struggling there still difficult things that come up each and every day and then there's just a war season 6 says there is a war we don't wrestle with flesh and blood we war against principalities against powers that are unseen. That's Satan and his demons and it's a very real war and some of you are in that battle right now. And so that's why we as Believers unbelievers need to hear this message as well leaving a life of sin in church. Let me just say this the only way that that is possible. Is by understanding this we're in the series called greater than its understanding that Jesus is greater than our sin. And because of what he has done for us we can be safe and we can have Victory we can we can gain at Victory through him and through the wonderful gift of the Holy Spirit and we're thankful for that soap is you're making your way to John chapter 8. Where we're going to be at maybe you're already there. I want to just say this today because maybe you're already asking this question. I kind of looked ahead and I saw that in my text. It says this is not part of the early manuscripts. So I want to explain that today before we jump in because I think it's important. I think we kind of need to know why and we need to understand that today and so many historians many scholars would say that this is not part of the earliest manuscripts. In fact, if you go back just as a recently around the 1960s they discover the Dead Sea Scrolls was not in that as well. At least this portion of scripture the beginning of John chapter 8 Mini Bible Bibles and even commentaries do not have the beginning of John chapter 8 in them and even many scholars would say this that John did not write this part of scripture. And so what does that mean for us as Believers? Because if you're like me even in Bible College, I heard the spot I want would say this. Well, it's in my Bible, you know, and so as I begin to ask questions and and I think about the reality it's in our Bibles. And so what do we do as Believers and ask your pastor. We just skip over this part of scripture or do we become faithful and say hey there there's some stuff that we need to know in here. And so I'll just be real honest. This was probably an actual true story that happened was probably part of Jewish history in Jewish tradition, but may have not been part of the original Canon and so I just want to say this today is we jump in today. I want to be faithful to this part of what we do have. And I want to handle this very delicately because not only if it if it is part of Jewish history that the part is I want to handle it delicately because of the subject matter of what we're going to talk about today and it's this sin. How do we as Christians? How do we as Believers talk about deal with sin? And so we're going to handle it delicately, but also this we're going to preach it with boldness today. Because it's what God's word tells us to do. So, here we go. If you have your Bibles what's jumping in we're going to start at John chapter 8, but maybe yours does John chapter 7 verse 53 and so I want you to take a look at what we see here. They went each to his own house. But Jesus went to the Mount of Olives early in the morning. He came again to the temple. All the people came to him and he sat down and he taught them the scribes and the Pharisees brought a woman who had been caught in adultery and placing her in the midst. They said to him teacher. This woman has been caught in the act of adultery now in the law of Moses commanded us to Stone such a woman. So what do you say this? They said to test him to test Jesus that they might have some charge to bring against him Jesus bent down and he wrote with his finger on the grounds. Verse 7 is they continue to ask him he stood up and he said to them let him who is without sin among you be the first to throw a stone at her and wants more he bent down and wrote on the ground, but when they heard it, they went away one by one beginning with the older ones and Jesus was left alone with the woman standing before him verse 10 Jesus stood up and said her woman. Where are they? Has no one condemned you. She said no one Lord. when Jesus said neither do I condemn you? Going from now on. Send no more.

What what an interesting passage that we see here today?

And so I want to start here and I want to kind of talk a little bit about what we see before we jump right into some of the points today and I want us to think about where Jesus was at that Jesus was out the Mount of Olives and I think we have a picture of this. This is the Mount of Olives you may say, it looks kind of like a hill if you've ever been in the Hill Country or maybe down by Fort Davis, you know it if we think about I'm sure most of this this isn't a new picture but most of that probably was not there during Jesus's dating age, but we realize where Jesus was at now. I show you that picture to show you this that this where Jesus was at was not too far away. From the old city or from the temple where Jesus was heading because we know that's where he goes next. He's on the mount and then he goes to the temple. So I think we got a picture of that as well in between. This this Mount of Olives. We know that there's the Kidron Valley in the Kidron Valley kind of drops down and then it goes up to the Temple Mount or the rock of the Dome this this gold Dome thing now and in current-day Israel is actually a mosque and I know Ken Spence is real and has some of you have been as real as well. But the most Scholars most authorities believe this is probably close to where the original Temple was that after this is where Jesus is at Jesus's teaching the people he's at the temple and what is so interesting is Jesus is in the middle of of talking and visiting with these people and all the sudden income the religious leaders income the that the scribes and the Pharisees and what happens is very interesting day bring a woman to him. That was caught in it in a shameful Act. She was caught in adultery. As I thought about this one I thought about how difficult that must have been for this lady. I think about how shameful and in what was going on for her to actually be caught. I mean, we're people peeping in the windows. Were people like setting this lady up because we know in just a moment as we're going to look at that Jesus that the religious leaders work were coming against Jesus. It was a test. They were trying to catch him off guard. But this this woman was caught in the act of adultery in and how shameful she must have felt how embarrassed how awkward the situation is. They dragged her through the streets probably half naked. She's trying to cover herself up and they bring her into the temple.

Who better to judge her than 2G to be Jesus, right? And in Jesus, they thought was above the law. In fact as we go back and we look at John chapter 7 Jesus Compares himself. t'god God is my father. And so this it it angered the religious leaders. And so they're like we're going to we're going to catch a Jesus up and they they bring this this woman caught in the act of adultery did Jesus look at verse for and they tell him plainly what happened and then they say this in the law Moses commanded to Stone such a woman. Here's what they want to do, Jesus. What do you say? What do you say Jesus? What should what should we do? Here's my first point today and I want us to think about this because we as Believers need to understand this.

Because of our sin we all deserve the death sentence. How many times have you were to be honest though. We look when When sin happened to wear like what about their sin? What about their stuff? Let me just say this church. I have my own stuff today and it's not good that the Bible says this impact Paul says then Romans. 623 for the wages of sin is death. I don't like that first.

I mean when we take a look at scripture, there's some verses that are really tough. Wages of sin is death. That's what the Bible tells us in Romans chapter 3. It says this there's none righteous. No, not one man. My stuff isn't isn't good. We all deserve the death penalty and that's Puff. Let me go on and say this is what Paul says are Romans 6:23 the wages of sin is death. But the gift the free gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ Our Lord.

Are we thankful for that today loved ones? When we think about the reality of what we deserve we all deserve death, but because of what Jesus has done because he came and he took her place our place on the cross and we have been forgiven and that's what we need to be reminded up here in the story.

I just had to take some time this week. Set alarm and I'm thankful for the cross. I know that I don't deserve it. But I'm thankful for the blood of Jesus because it's Set Me Free from the bondage and the junk of this world that we get. So easily entangled in y'all.

Jesus took our place on the cross. So that the death sentence wouldn't have to happen. I thought about all the stuff this woman went through. When I think about this woman, I think about that's me. That's me. I'm this this lady. I'm The Sinner in this story.

And my deeds and in my sin. deserve death What are the things that we see in the Old Testament as we see a number of things that deserve death in the fact we see a number of things that that stand out to us. It would say these are worthy of stoning the Old Testament. That's what happened when there was an egregious in. What you think about some of these today? How are we doing? Breaking the Sabbath in the Old Testament basically working on the Sabbath and not taking a day of rest. How's that working out for some of us today?

So many times man, we just we got it man one more thing and I've got two I'll get back then in the Old Testament take him out Stoneham.

Seeking a medium or a wizard or if this was you I can honestly say that's not something that I struggle with, but we know people that have we know people that have because maybe they feel like God is not answering them or taking care of their needs. I'm going to go seek. Somebody to help me or to give me some answers.

stoning

cursing or blaspheming God if if that was you and the Old Testament and people heard you and there were two or three or more witnesses. Take him out Stoneham blaspheming God. And and so I tell you that today for this how our words are words pleasing to God. Are they a pleasant Aroma to the Lord?

Do we talk the same way in church as we do out in the oilfield y'all?

I need to watch how we speak. Rebelling against your parents and other work too stubborn or rebellious child. Is if that was them in the Old Testament people can take him outside of the city and stone them and I know some of you today would so, you know what I love my children. They're not perfect. But man, we live in a day and age y'all we're children don't respect their parents. And I have seen some awful things in the aisles at Walmart in the way that children treat their parents and hit them and cuss them out in a Walmart aisle over silly. silly stuff

rebellious children sex with a virgin adultery as in this case Stone take him out Stoneham. Or how about this one cursing the king?

You may say what what how does that apply to me today? What what how do we how do we view our president?

I don't know lately if you seen the president's approval rating. You may say well it's been higher than summer whether you like our current president or not. How do we how do we talk about our present or the last president

are we are we in a cursing?

We need to watch how we speak and what we say and all these things are tough.

There were numerous people in the Bible who were stones for their Center people who are stone for? Something that they did that didn't deserve stoning. In other words. They were innocent and none the less. They were taking out and Stones people like naboth in First Kings 21. They have came to him and said hey give me your Vineyard. Give me your property and they bought was like no that's not what God wants me to do and so Ahab goes home and he throws a tantrum and talks to his wife and Jezebel Wicked Queen Jezebel. We know what happened and and she's like, you know what I'm going to handle this. And she has some people falsely accuse name off. Naboth is taken out and stoned. Falsely accused Zakaria and 2nd Chronicles 24 was a godly man. He was a priest and he stands up and he says you Wicked people you're disobeying God's Commandments and God is not for you. He's not going to let you prosper and they didn't like that and they take him out and they Stone and we know people that have been falsely accused. Of something that they haven't done Jennifer. I just recently were watching it a show on Netflix about a gentleman in Missouri was falsely accused for murder. And then years later was exonerated didn't do it. Didn't do it. I thought my home anytime sweet. We probably all know someone or heard of someone falsely accusing the Old Testament. These people are Stone in the New Testament. We know if Stephen was martyred wasn't the first New Testament Saint who was martyred for the sake of Jesus Christ, and he stood up and he said I believe in Jesus.

Acts chapter 7 we see this account in Acts chapter 14 Paul the great missionary was in the town of Lister and telling people about Jesus and they didn't like it so they take him out and they stole them and they thought he was dead.

I'm Paul's lighting out and he comes back into town.

all people who work falsely accused So what actually happens when it came to this idea of being Stones? Well in the Jewish mishnah or the Jewish oral Traditions a person that was found guilty to be Stone was to be taken outside of the camp outside of the village and there had always be two or more witnesses. And the reason why this was done was because the sin had to be verified there had to be proof. They didn't want to Stone someone who was not guilty. And so there are always two or more witnesses. Once the person was found guilty, then they would be taken outside of the camp. And so here's what would actually happen. This is interesting and I just want to tell you this cuz I think we need to know this. App. It would be dug generally was anywhere from double your body link. So anywhere from about 10 to 12 feet deep and then what would happens once the pit was dug, they would put rocks big boulders at the bottom of this pit. Once that happened the person that was found guilty their hands would be tied behind their backs. And then they would take the person from the hips and push them into the pits. Because they couldn't use their hands generally they would face. They would fall Face Forward Into The Rock's if that until the end of visual. Then what would happen is the very first accuser the very first witness would pick up a rock. This wasn't a small rock. This was anywhere from 10 to 15 pounds and they would take the Rock. And in Bring It Up Above their head and then thrust it down upon the person. That didn't kill them in the second witness and so on if the second Witnesses Rock didn't kill the person then the whole town would come together the whole village and then they would throw rocks at at the person and eventually bury the person. We know this at the person would die very brutal way to die.

I tell us this to help us understand that Paul tells us in Romans chapter 3. There's none righteous. No, not one. No one pulses understands. No one seeks for God. Church because of my sin because of our sin we deserve death.

So any one of my numerous sin separates me from a holy and righteous God God God cannot stand sent it. It separates us from him until we confess that sing. Until we get it out into the light.

and light always dispels Darkness and we know this that Jesus Christ is the light and once we turn that sent over to him once we give it to him. He sets us free.

Do you want to be free today?

Do you want to have freedom in your life some of you right now or in bondage you are in change to send? You're where this woman was and you need to be set free in the only way that can happen if you come to Jesus and let him change you let him for forgive you.

You're the father gave us his one and only son in Jesus Christ took our place on the cross. And because of that we have been set free. We've been given Bible says this everlasting life. And so I want you to know this today. This is the message. That gives us hope we think about the reality of what we deserve. The good news today is loved ones. Jesus is taking her place and that's why we can have hope and that's why as we walk through this life. And as we think about the difficult days that we may face we know this.

There is hope. And there is truth and that comes from Jesus Christ. And so let him change you they let him forgive you run to him today. I've got to move on. Here's a second point that I want to give you today and this is important for us as Believers because of our sin. Because of our sin we can judge too quickly and that's what we see happening with these religious leaders. They want an answer from Jesus. They want her to be stones. They want Justice to happen.

May I ask you a question a day? How many times have you judge too? Quickly? How many times have we all Judge Too Quickly the answer to that is yes many. Many times we see this play out a lot on social media don't we somebody post a snide comment or somebody post something and then that works us and that sets us off. And what happens is we we want to reply right back and we want to slam somebody right back. We see this on the news all the time or commercials. In the political realm of things, especially right now during voting time. The Man People are slamming each other. People are just saying awful things. Accusations are flying. And we see this happen with friendships and people close to us may just say this. We have all said something or done something out of anger and it haste because we didn't take the time. To see the whole picture we didn't take the time to to get on our knees and seek the Lord and so you know what? I don't know the answer and I don't have to come back right away. And so I just know the best thing for me is to remain silent. And to seek the Lord and ask him how I should respond and what I should do. in the midst of this difficult problem So one of the things that we see is he's religious leaders bring this woman to Jesus. They have one thing on their mind and it's his condemnation judgment Stone her let's do this thing. Right? And what are they say to Jesus they continue to ask him in verse 7 in the NIV. It says this they kept on questioning him. What do you say Jesus? What do you say give us an answer in the New Living Translation? It says this They kept demanding an answer from him. What do you say Jesus in other words? This was a trap? Turn to your neighbor and say this was a trap. Okay, they were trying to trap Jesus. They were trying to the catch him because they thought Jesus was above the law. They thought Jesus was was too good. And now they have this perfect opportunity to call him out. Jesus you say you're you're the Savior say that you're the Messiah that's come. We're going to prove that you're nothing but a deceiver and this is how love me let me show you really quick. This is how they they try to trap Jesus. They were going to trap Jesus because of you says here. Yes, let's Stone her. Let's take her out and and do this then then Jesus would be guilty of violating the Roman law during this time. Because the Roman law at this time said that they deprive the Jews of the death penalty. Now the Romans had their own own way of killing people and they were doing that a lot during this time. We know eventually what happened with Jesus. And so anytime the Jews want to do something that I had to go to the Romans. What's up, Jesus did this you would be breaking the Roman law but on the other side of the equation of Jesus showed compassion to this woman and if he were to come alongside and say hey, we need to love her. We need to forgive her and let her go. Then Jesus would be breaking the Ten Commandments or the Mosaic law, right? Which said if somebody committed adultery Then they had to be taken out and stones. So they have Jesus. So how does Jesus respond look at verse 6?

What diseases do? Was just some awkward silence with Jesus, right? Here's what Jesus Does.

You know what? Jesus said, do you know what Jesus Drew? maybe it was Caiaphas the high priest

maybe it was some religious leaders. Maybe he drew a picture of the whole world. all of sinned all of fallen short bottom line is we don't know what Jesus wrote.

If we needed to know I think scripture would have put it in there for us. We would have had it in there. So it's left unsaid. But here's what I do want us to understand today love once and it's this what are we like? What are we like? How do we respond when someone sends against us when someone hurts us? This is so important.

Do we judge others if you're a Believer here today? Maybe the question is are we supposed to judge others? How do we how do we know what to do? What's what's right. What's wrong? What does the Bible say about that? Well, I want to show you what the Bible says couple weeks ago. We took a look at John chapter 7 and John Chapter 7. You can look at this with me verse 24. It says this do not judge by appearances but judge with right judgement. What in the world does that mean? What what exactly does that say? Here's what we need to know. We as Believers need to judge. Rightly. I want to encourage you be Discerning make wise choices think before you respond pray before you respond seek Godly counsel. There's another scripture for you Matthew chapter 7 verse 1 through 3 tells us this maybe you've heard these versus before but these are important judge not that you be not judged. For with the Judgment you pronounce you will be judged and with the measure you use it will be measured to you. Now comes the convicting end of this. Why do you see the speck that's in your brother's eyes and not notice the log that's just protruding out of out of your own. That's the verse that we don't like. Now, let me just say this before I move on I believe.

That we can judge people's actions. And sometimes we have to do that.

Sometimes their sinful things and I question earlier sin has consequences. And so we can judge actions, but let me be very careful to say this that we don't judge motives and that's up to God y'all. And so when it comes to well, I don't know why they why they did this. How come they responded that way? I know what someone is thinking we don't only God does. I'm so let God take care of that leave the consequences up to God Romans 12 says his vengeance is mine says the Lord.

We need to be careful how we respond there. Then this James 2:13 for judgment is without Mercy to one who has shown Mercy. In other words. We will be judged by our standard of Mercy. Are we quick to show Mercy? Are we quick to forgive because isn't that what we would want what when where the center? Absolutely. If we're not careful love ones, I think oftentimes we can judge too quickly instead of taking time to pray. And ask God to help us see how we need to respond. And what we need to do need to move on number 3 jot this down when we recognize our sin. When we see our sin, we need to be quick to drop the rocks and show forgiveness not here's why this is so important because if you are anything like me when someone hurts me when someone sends against me, what I usually do is I hold on to that rock really tightly, right? And I'm like me and I just want to get back to this person and I don't like what they said and how dare they do that to me or to my family. We need to drop those rocks Shaw. And for us as Believers, this is a hard thing to do in general. I can only happen when we seek the Lord and ask God to change our hearts. Now what we see here, is this and verses 9 through 10? We see the response. We see the response from Jesus in scripture tells us that Jesus what he does is he straightens up? And I don't know if somebody said something as Jesus is is riding on the grounds. But he straightens up and he gives him a response. He's like if you guys want me to say something, let me tell you.

You want to know what what I'm going to tell you to do? Here's here's what I say.

Go ahead and throw the first pitch. but the person who throws the first pitch needs to be perfect. Needs to be without sin. Is what Jesus says? anyone Bueller Bueller

No one. No one responds.

What happens here? The scripture tells us that one by one. people begin to drop the rocks That's the response that happens because this congregation if you will this this people that are are gather round. They see their own sin. They realize I'm not perfect. And so scripture tells us this one by one people begin to drop their Stones beginning with the older ones first. Why would we need to know that here's why? Because generally speaking. There is wisdom with h. And the older ones understood this first. I'm not perfect. I have my own sin. I'll just say this and I don't want to move on when I was younger and not as wise. I was very quick to judge. Everyone else is sin and not see my own. Not see the stuff that God was working on in my own life and sanctifying me and so are there times that I had to stop and say you know what? There's some things that Matt needs to work on. Before I am quick to judge others.

This is sometimes we have to look at ourselves first. before we judge others It may be our prayers this as people have heard us and as there's been things done to us. Maybe we will be quick to do this to say know what I need to forgive him. Just as Christ forgave this woman that was caught in the act of adultery and when we forgive people guess what God does God comes along side of them. And helps them understand what forgiveness is and helps them understand that there isn't anyone righteous.

But we can continue in our walk. And grow in Christ. And so when I ask you a question this morning, what kind of rocks do you need to let go of today? What kind of rocks right now currently in your life. Do you need to drop? I can tell you a few for me. I can tell you a few things. I got has been working on in my life things that I've seen overtime the first rock. Is this the righteous Rock? The Rock if I'm always right and they're always wrong

It's more of a judgmental Rock. Those are the rocks that I need to let go of. And I have to remember there's none righteous. No, not Matt's not one. God help me to to forgive help me to be gracious with my words. Here's another rock that man is hard for me the rock of retaliation. The rock of Revenge because there's been so many times that people have hurt me men in the flesh. I want to just lash out y'all. And behind closed doors you like men. I don't know if that guy has a pastor. Because here's the reality in our flesh. We want to do things that we know are not right. But in the spirit Galatians talks about this we can respond in love. We can respondent in Grace and forgiveness and we can't have self control.

Rock of retaliation Revenge

So I have to ask God to call me down and they give me a piece so that I don't handle things in a wrong manner in a wrong way. And if this is not if this doesn't get better in my own life, what a lot of times what happens is it leads to the rock of of resentments. That's another rock that I have to let go of because so often what happens is that when someone hurts me maybe for you and someone hurts you or let you down. What do we do? We resent that person. Or maybe if if they don't follow through or they don't do something that we've asked him to do we resent them. Or maybe we've taken on too much and resentment comes in there as well, right? And resentment man, it can lead to bitterness. It can lead to us talking to everyone but that person about that. The Senate's happened about the problem that's happened. I'm so so often we hold on to resentment. Let me just say this. We got to let that rock you. We got to drop that rock and then here's the last one. This is tough is the rock of retreats. and so many times what happens for believers is when somebody is hurt when somebody is wounded or sinned against or they've done the city. We want to move on and we don't want to put up with a problem anymore until what happens is we Retreat and this can be a way that we deal with conflict and spin. And yes, let me just say this. It is a rock that needs to be let go because when we Retreat we don't really deal with the problem. You don't really handle it and take care of the matter. So let me just encourage you with this if that's happened to you sit down. and visit with that person talk about the problem. Talk about the Hertz. Maybe you're the one that's been sinned against. Let's be quick to forgive as Christ has forgiven us and that's what I have to to remind myself up over and over. Again. Matt Christ has forgiven you.

I'm so let's be quick to forgive number for jot this down because of Christ Authority we can be forgiven. Want to read these verses to us again? Look at John chapter 8 with me.

Jesus stood up and said to her woman, where are they has no one condemned you she said no one board and Jesus said neither do I condemn you go and from now on sin no more. What's the weather Reston about this at this point Jesus had done nothing that require any special Authority? Jesus had done some amazing things here because what Jesus had done is heated turpitude the law and help everyone else see their sin. You properly interpret the law the way that it needed to be done. but now things begin to change because what Jesus Does is Jesus addresses the situation people begin to leave and it's just Jesus and this woman and here are the two questions that staying out to us. First of all, where are your accusers?

The second question is this has no one accused you. I Love This Bar

because those who were quick to accuse stoner stoner condemn her she deserves death those who are quick to accuse her. Have now drop their stuff.

They've seen or Onsen.

We now see the authority of Jesus. He forgives her sin and he tells her he will not condemn her. What you think about this this morning who has the right to forgive sin?

Who has the right to to Really forgive our sin who has the right to let someone guilty go free? is Jesus

the only reason why that that's that's able to happen is because Jesus took our sin. He took our place on the cross. In fact, he became sin so that we might be forgiven. So that we might be set free. Don't want to just say this this morning because some of you are already thinking about this like I did this week. What about her sin? Does Jesus Just Let It Go? No. I want to be quick to say this. Jesus is not ignore or excuse or sin. He acknowledges it because this is the very last thing that we see happened here. Here's Jesus's words from now on sin no more.

In the NIV it says leave your life of sin. And so clearly this woman was guilty. She was a shame. She was humiliated. She understood our sin. She understood that that literally her life was in the balance. But she deserved the death penalty.

But Jesus comes along to show her that he cares about her.

I want you to know today. No matter what you're dealing with in your life. Jesus cares about you and just like this woman he shows us and he showed her. a picture of what forgiveness of true forgiveness looks like and Jesus wants her now to go to go and leave this life of sin behind in the be transformed by the power of His name. That's the only way that sin can be changed by the power of Jesus's name by the blood of Jesus Christ. And so what Jesus does here is Jesus covers her disgrace with his grace church. What an amazing picture?

He forgives her. And helps her see that she can leave this life of sin and have a new life in Jesus Christ.

Church the only one who could condemn her was Jesus and yet Jesus doesn't do that. Jesus is very words or this neither. Do I condemn you? You know who does condemned and Satan? Satan makes us feel shameful and unworthy. And so what Jesus did here was an awesome thing? Because on that day Jesus. You didn't pick up a rock. And you made everyone else drop theirs?

That's that's the challenge for us today.

What rocks do we need to drop? What rocks do we need to let go of in our own lives? As we look at other people. Well, we need to be reminded up today churches. This Jesus Paid It all we've heard that a hundred times we sang about that in church many times. But because Jesus Paid It all because of his goodness and his mercy and Authority. We can be set free from death and sin.

This is how Jesus wants us to live. when we think about The the title of this message leaving a life of sin behind. How do we do that? The only way that we can do that is to understand that Jesus is greater than our sin. He's greater than the biggest problem that you face today, and he wants to set you free from that. And so the challenges this will you come to him? We admit that you're a sinner. Will you admit that you desperately need Jesus today? Once you just about your head and close your eyes with me. I think about the reality of this Jesus has a desire for Sinners to turn to him. Just like this lady did.

Did you think about your own life today?

How are things going? Is there sin there are there things that you're struggling with?
