he Kalvin is followed by the Brother in group, strict Baptist, presbytery.
The Armenian side followed by the Methodist, Pentecostals, and Salvation Army.
Verses 4 to 6 there are four possible interpretations
1 calvinist answer for once saved always saved through? They say those who were like this like in this worse they were never born again.Matthew seven, sermon on the mount who were casting demons out.
They say these people have experience similarity about Christianity, but they have never been saved. They say they’re not falling away from salvation, but they are falling away from interesting things about Christianity or you might even see from religion.
that’s interesting, but it is hard to believe because the Bible language is very serious, for a person who is not Born again.
Let’s just read what is 4 to 6 That language is not for one who is not been saved. A person who is a Christian.
2) hypothetical, in other words he is here describing something in practice can never happened. It’s a threat, it’s a warning, of a hypothetical situation, was not only A remote possibility, but by grace never Occurs.
Those who say this they put that emphasis on IF at the beginning of vers six, if They follow way .That if he is hypothetical. It is Something Wold never having.
I don’t believe God is like that, that he would play with the words and Jesus. This is something serious studying character of God I don’t believe that’s right.
3) if a Christian falls away, he loses his salvation as far as this world is concerned but not the next world. He is therefore paralleled to those in first Corinthians 3Whom Paul said “ they will suffer loss bUt be saved through fire. In other words they will lose every blessing in this world, but they wouldn’t make it to heaven barely
Or the man in first Corinthians chapter 5 is delivered to devil so that his body might be destroyed but his spirit is saved.
This one is a possibility? But somehow in my heart says it’s twisting the words. Because the language here is very strong. It is impossible to be brought to repentance! Ever that’s the implication
4) there is one possible way which a Christian can lose his salvation
There are many scriptures in the Bible That seems to imply a Christian cannot lose his salvation, :24He will not be condemned he will pass from death to life
I will never cast out
they shall never perish none shall pluck them out of my hand
I will never remember their since no mor
: there is no condemnation those who live in Christ
These texts pileup in the New Testament, seem to point out to the fact, that Christian have the final security
But on the other hand in the New Testament there is also number of texts which is taken, together, takes us to the opposite Direction
For example he who endures to the end shall be saved
whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit it shall never be forgiven him.
whoever puts hand on to the plow and looks back is not fit for the kingdom of Go
If we deliberately keeps on Sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice of sin is left
there is a sin and that is a sin in Christian brothers, which is a sin unto death
What can we say about this, I can only say personally I am a steak the word of God as it stands seriously.
Although all the scriptures talks about the security there is one case in which a Christian can forfeit his salvation. And that is the case of apostasy. Not backsliding, Not being tempted to singing, but apostasy. That means turn one back deliberately leaving all his or her Christian experience. It means I denied Christ I don’t care for Christ
To that person there is no repentance. A backslide can get back to Christ but an apostate cannot because he cut off the Christ. This is a very strong warning.
If you continue paul says…. Have to be my faith to be saved….
Here is the danger if we don’t go onto maturity we can fined ourselves drifting to the point, where Actually commit apostasy
Don’t drift away, get an anchor, the anchor is Jesus Christ. The anchor is invisible but it is working. We must take the warning seriously.
But if I leave you here it’s disappointing unnecessary worried. But look at the letter after this encouraging.
