Our subject this morning is the human heart
Have you ever wondered why there are not more people getting saved?
The disciples did:
They asked Jesus in “Lord, are there just a few being saved?”
And we will preach through this passage in a few weeks but why do only a few people get saved?
Why don’t more people come to follow Jesus?
Its clearly a better way of life
It produces a joy that the world does not have
It brings hope
It brings purpose
It offers eternal life
The human heart has four layers
Two atrium both on the upper side
The Pericardium
This is a sac that surrounds your heart filled with fluid
It encases your heart to protect it
The second layer is called the Epicardium
Two ventricles both on the lower side
One of the problems with evangelism (telling people about Jesus) is it seems to be fruitless
This is a thin layer that greases the heart as it moves
It is a second layer of protection
The third layer is called the Myocardium
Blood enters the right atrium
This is the thickest part of the heart
It is the heart wall or muscle of the heart
It is the muscle
This is the actual functioning part of the heart
Moves to the right ventricle
The fourth layer is the innermost layer called the Endocardium
Then circulates through the lungs
This is the part of the heart that lines the cavities and walls of the heart
Then moves to the left atrium
It is this layer that comes into contact with the blood
Its then transferred to the left ventricle
And the left ventricle pumps oxygenated blood throughout your body
You didn’t know you were getting an anatomy lesson did you?
Just as the heart has four physical layers, Jesus said the heart has four spiritual layers
You may have to speak to 100 people before any fruit appears
Did you know the heart has four chambers?
For the gospel message to save someone it must penetrate all layers
What Jesus will teach us today is that is not your fault
Why do more people not get saved?
It has a shallow layer
It has a fleshly layer
Why are there not more Christians in the world today?
The power in evangelism is the gospel
It has
For people to respond to it, is a matter of their heart.
Does God want to save people? GOD LOVES SAVING PEOPLE
And the innermost layer
It is my desire that we better understand why some people respond and others do not and to encourage us along the way
Did you know there are four chambers
In your heart you two atrium and two ventricles
The two atrium are at the top
The ventricles are on the bottom
The Creator of your heart will show us this morning there are also four spiritual dimensions of your heart
Two atrium
Two ventricles
There is a hard layer
It’s not God…it is the human heart
There is a shallow layer
There is a carnal layer
There is a fertile layer
This sermon will serve two purposes this morning:
It will serve two purposes this morning:
To help us become better evangelist by understanding the depths of the heart
To take a look at our own life and be sure the gospel has changed our heart.
No man wanting a good garden would plants seeds in clay, or rock, or shallow soil.
Luke 8:4–8 NKJV
And when a great multitude had gathered, and they had come to Him from every city, He spoke by a parable: “A sower went out to sow his seed. And as he sowed, some fell by the wayside; and it was trampled down, and the birds of the air devoured it. Some fell on rock; and as soon as it sprang up, it withered away because it lacked moisture. And some fell among thorns, and the thorns sprang up with it and choked it. But others fell on good ground, sprang up, and yielded a crop a hundredfold.” When He had said these things He cried, “He who has ears to hear, let him hear!”
Luke 8:4-8
Prayer
Two things I want you to note about the sower:
#1: He must have the seeds to sow
If we are going to be evangelist in this church we must be sure we have the seeds!
What are the seeds?
Verse 11: “the seed is the word of God”
In other words the seed is being bale to communicate the gospel
If you cannot communicate the gospel message please train yourselves to
Go home and write it out
Practice it so at the drop of a hat you can tell anyone about the hope that is in Jesus
Make yourself prepared that if someone was to come up to you today, you could explain the gospel clearly
For this church to fulfill its mission in the Great Commission it must have seeds to sow!!
#2: He sows seeds everywhere
He did not discriminate
He did not try to judge the hearts of men
Everyone is worthy to hear the gospel
BE A SOWER:
Take the gospel and distribute seeds like they are burning a hole in your pocket
Give them out like Bernie Sanders wants to do with your tax dollars
Take the gospel everywhere
The waitress at the restaurant
To your neighbor
To the house you drive by everyday
SOW SEEDS
Jesus planted this church to SOW SEEDS!
Jesus finishes his parable with these words: He who has ears to hear, let him hear
That means, HEY THIS IS IMPORTANT!!
Don’t let your mind wander this morning
Listen to these words as if your very life depended upon them…because it does
Which layer of your heart has the gospel penetrated?
It is the same for the seeds of the gospel.
For the gospel to penetrate and change a person they must be planted in a fertile heart.
This morning we see exactly what that looks like in human terms
He must have the seeds to sow
If you cannot communicate the gospel clearly at the drop of a hat I want to encourage you to practice
Go home and write out your understanding of the gospel
If you need help it would bring me great joy to help you
Make yourself prepared that if someone was to come up to you today, you could explain the gospel clearly
He sows seeds everywhere
He does not discriminate
He does not try to judge the hearts of men
He does not care what kind of heart he is sowing on
BE A SOWER:
Take the gospel and distribute it like Bernie Sanders wants to do with your tax dollars.
Take the gospel everywhere
The waitress at the restaurant
To your neighbor who doesn’t attend church
To the house you drive by everyday and feel the Spirit of God leading you to sow there
SOW SEEDS
BE THE CHURCH AND GIVE PEOPLE THE GREATEST NEWS IN TH$E WOLRD

The first layer of the heart is the Hard Layer

This is the outmost layer
When a human heart hears the gospel the first
It can no penetrate the hard ground because the soil is packed so tightly
Its like the pericardium surrounding the heart
It is encased the heart and it is not letting anything inside
When you take a seed and drop it on top of soil that has been pack down what happens to it?
It just sits there
It has no way to survive
It
It needs to be planted
But it cannot penetrate the rock hard ground
This hard layer of soil pictures a man’s heart that quickly rejects the message of Christ.
Verse 12: “Those by the wayside”
The word wayside literally means: “Out of Consideration”
This is someone who is completely unresponsive to the gospel
The thought that God came to earth to die for our sins is utter foolishness to him
The dirt is packed down tight
When we went door to door a few weeks ago we came to our last house
He answered the door and as soon as heard the word church he waved goodbye and shut the door
ILLUSTRATION: I have Bermuda grass in my back yard
He wants nothing to do with the things of God
Deer use the same path through the woods becuase it is bare
I have Bermuda grass in my back yard
It is a pain to deal with
It goes completely against his thinking
It’s like carpet
He doesn’t think he needs Christ or to be saved
A heart can be hardened by many things:
Thick and when you mow it it sits right on top where it gets tracked in the house
Unbelief
I taught my dog how to fetch a frisbee
Being mad at God
He’s got some olympic metal winning potential but I don’t want it to go to his head so we keep it in the yard
Pride or a haughty spirit
When he gets that frisbee he always returns on the same path
Or SIN....which sums up the other 3
And that path will remain there for weeks or months
This is a man who knows all but feels nothing
If I were to take some new grass seed and put it on Moose’s path it would never take off and grow because it is unable to penetrate the ground
He doesn’t have to be outside the walls of the church
It doesn’t mean they never enter a church or even attend church
It would sit there on top the dirt until a bird or storm washed it away
They may have heard the gospel a thousand times and rejected it so much their heart became numb to it.
They can sit Sunday after Sunday listening to the same words, but they never make an impact
The saving message of the cross, condemnation of sin, and hope in Jesus are just words
The seed needs to be planted
The gospel message is like a fairy tale to them…sounds nice but not for me
The cure for a hard heart is repentance
A man who is willing to repent will plow the ground to that hard soil
When we repent what we are doing is acknowledging our sin
We are saying God I am wrong and you are right
Paul said, “let God be true and every man a liar!”
A believer must be willing to get down on his hands and knees and cry out to God to forgive him
Do you repent? If you do not then you may be developing a hard layer of soil
Notice verse 12: “those who have heard; then the devil comes and takes away the word out of their hearts”
Nothing grows there because it is so hard and it makes walking a breeze
Sin hardens hearts
Unbelief hardens hearts
And God can harden hearts
APPLICATION: The Hard heart is the one who has heard the gospel but the gospel has had no impact in their lives
He doesn’t even consider following because it makes no sense to him
The word wayside literally means: Out of Consideration”
It goes against his thinking
Non-sense
idle talk
It goes in one ear and out the other
The words are heard but not heeded
It is a calloused heart
The cost is to great
He just doesn’t think he needs it
It just sits outside the walls of the heart unable to enter
When it sits there the devil comes and snatches it away
A hard heart may happen simply because of disbelief
Hardness could come because someone is made at God or someone who blames God for something
It could be a hard heart because of pride and a haughty spirit
Whatever the case the heart absolutely rejects the gospel and says that Christian stuff isn’t for me
He knows all but feels nothing
It is a heart that has been hardened by sin
It is completely unresponsive to the gospel
An interesting thing is that Satan comes and snatches the seed away
When the message of Jesus is told to a man he must make a choice!
I’ve heard people say they will get saved when they get ready
He can either accept it, and the seed will sprout
But no man chooses his day of salvation
It is God who chooses when and how we get saved
John 6:44 NKJV
No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up at the last day.
Or he can reject it, and it will just sits on the cold stony ground
The danger is when it is rejected, the enemy takes it away
When God presents you an opportunity, don’t pass it up
The opportunity to accept the gospel does not remain there for an indefinite time
No man gets saved on his own time!
“No one can come to the Son unless the Father draws him”
When you feel the Spirit of God drawing you don’t delay
The time of salvation is when the gospel is presented and right then
He gets saved when God is calling him to be saved
To delay is to risk the seed being snatched away
When God is saying TODAY IS THE DAY COME!! Don’t ignore it…you may never get another chance
If he waits to long, the seed of life will be snatched away

The second layer of heart is the Shallow Layer

Verse 13: “But the ones on the rock are those who, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, who believe for a while and in time of temptation fall away.”
Imagine planting seeds in a little seed starter
The dirt is only about an inch deep
The plant sprouts up and may even produce a couple leaves
But what happens if that plant is not transplanted…the plant withers and dies because it cannot grow nay root
This seed has made it past the hard layer, but it doesn’t have enough soil to grow in
It gets caught in the shallow layer
A seed doesn’t need much soil to sprout
This is the shallow layer of the heart called the
In fact you can sprout seeds in a paper towel
In fact, it will sprout in a wet paper towel
But they wont grow long
But it wont survive long unless it is transplanted in the soil so it can take root
These are the people who hear the gospel and receive it with joy!
The gospel is truly the “good news” to them
They want to become a Christian
The gospel is truly the “good news” to them
They believe Jesus died for them and they want forgiveness
Many times they will walk an isle and even be baptized
They will join the church and begin a walk with Christ
Everything is going great until trouble comes
They like what they hear
When the testing begins, they fall away
They say hey this Christian thing ain’t for me
Jesus has died for our sins and through Him we can have eternal life and they rejoice in this
BUT it only lasts for a short while
They may walk the isle
They may even get baptized
But the seed has landed in a shallow heart
It springs up quickly but withers ands dies as soon as the sun hits it
It has no moisture because it has no root
This heart pictures a superficial response to the gospel
Its a quick reaction, yes I want heaven and ill take Jesus too
I am in and its going to great, until its not great
When the choice comes to suffer they fall back
Jesus I love you as long as everything is sweet as honey
When it is going to cause them pain to continue with Jesus they change their mind
When they see risks involved…they decide it just isn’t worth it
Why do they fall away after temptations and trials come?
They fall away because have never placed faith in Christ!
They may repented of their sins
They may be sorry for what they have done
They even try to live for the Lord
They start coming to church
They stop cussing
They open their Bible’s and begin to read
BUT the Christian life is hard
Jesus said, “narrow is the gate and hard is the way that leads to life”
It is no picnic to walk with Christ.
If it were easy everyone would be doing it
Who in their right mind wouldn’t want eternal life
BUT then things get hard
When your faith is in Christ, Christ does not fail
The shallow heart has yet to do that
They are faced with the reality that if they continue to follow Jesus they will have to take risks
He is still walking in the Spirit
They are going to have to get rid of some things
Their friends don’t like this change
Satan comes and attacks them and it is not the happy little Christian life that they thought!
And then they give up, and go back to their old way of living
To get passed this shallow layer THERE MUST BE FAITH!!
It is not enough to repent
They have asked for the forgiveness of Christ but have yet to walk in Christ
Salvation comes only through Repentance and faith
When your faith is placed in Christ then trial and tribulations become second place
Jesus said, “Take heart! I have overcome the world!”
There is nothing God cannot bring you through if your trust is in him
To turn from sin and place your hand in the hand of Jesus
Don’t give up!
It takes a serious response to the gospel
Don’t fall away!
Walk in His promises!
Trust His Heart!
He is a good!
It takes heart felt belief that Christ is the only way to life!
It is to transfer your trust to the Lord
It is an attitude that I will walk with Jesus Christ regardless of what I see.
I don’t who doesn’t like me because I am a Christian and to have the Father’s love is enough.
The hope is
Trial are sure to come into our lives saints of God!
When your faith is in Jesus and not the world the testing will not defeat you!
When you beleive thta jesus can do anyhting and it is Him who let this come into your life
He is still walking in the Spirit
Everyone who accepts the gospel will have his faith tested.
Its not for the Lord, He already knows…its for us.
“Blessed is the man who endures temptation; for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.” James 1:12
BUT the difference in a lost man and a saved man is the saved man is not defeated by the trials
The saved man has placed his faith Christ and not in the world
Blessed is the man who endures
The shallow heart has yet to do that
He is still walking in the Spirit
The hope of a born again believer is in Christ and Christ alone and CHRIST DOES NOT FAIL!!
When faith is placed in the overcomer the believer becomes the overcomer
When faith is placed in God, His victory is won
\
John 16:33 NKJV
These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”
When one is born again he is not shaken by trials and tribulations because his hope is in something greater
I can stand up here this morning and tell you the FACTS it is worth it to NOT GIVE UP!!
When one is born again he is not shaken by trials and tribulations because his hope is in something greater
They think it will be easy to follow Christ, and when tribulation arise they say hey this isn’t what I thought it was..I’m done
James 1:12 NKJV
Blessed is the man who endures temptation; for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.
NEVER, NEVER, GIVE UP!!
James
The man who endures shall receive the crown of lif
Matthew 24:13 NKJV
But he who endures to the end shall be saved.
Matthew 24:12–13 NKJV
And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. But he who endures to the end shall be saved.
James 1:1–8 NKJV
James, a bondservant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, To the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad: Greetings. My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.
James 1:3–8 NKJV

Trials must be conquered by faith
Temptations must be conquered by faith
Matthew 7:24–25 NKJV
“Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock.
On t
There is no such thing as a carnal Christian
No one can live the majority of their life
When someone gets saved he is positioned inside the kingdom of God
It is not of his own doing, but of the power of God
He is placed inside

The third layer of heart is the Dense Layer

It pictures a crowded heart
Verse 14: “The ones that fell among the thorns are those who, when they have heard, go out and are choked with cares, riches, and pleasures of life, and bring no fruit to maturity”
This is the seed that has fell in the midst of the garden that is full of weeds.
This man has heard the gospel and accepted it and truly tries to live for Christ
He has considered the gospel and it sounds good
The problem is he has not considered the cost
It is able to grow and take root, but the whole time it is competing with the weeds.
It becomes a plant but it has a narrow stalk, with few leaves and some small immature fruit.
There is no such thing as a carnal Christian
The fruit never matures and it becomes unusable.
This is the picture of a person who has accepted the gospel and chooses to live a Christian life, but has not let go of the world
No one can live the majority of their life
He has too many things in his heart
He wants Jesus
But he also wants the world
Instead of pla
The heart only has room for one king
Jesus is too big to share a room with anything else
When something else is competing with the Lord we fall under the sin of idolatry
This man may come to church
He comes to church
He calls himself a Christian
Believe what the Bible says
Live a decent moral life
Even serve the Lord some in his life
This is a heart that is pulled in two ways
He can’t because there is not enough room for him
He in unwilling to let go of certain things that keep him from a true walk with Christ
They have never fully committed
He believes it is ok to
“cares, riches, and pleasures of life”
His intention is to have the world and Jesus too.
This man has placed boundaries on Christ
He will be a good Christian until it crosses into his personal territory and then he draws the line
He seeks worldy things
Relationships
Money
The problem is
Power
His life is bound up in what he is worth
Pride
It may his intellectual
His rank among other people
Praise
His power in the world
You name it....anything in the world he desires more than Christ
He seeks all these things, but he identifies as a Christian too
When someone gets saved he is positioned inside the kingdom of God
This man has not sat down and counted the cost of being a disciple
Luke 14:28–30 NKJV
For which of you, intending to build a tower, does not sit down first and count the cost, whether he has enough to finish it—lest, after he has laid the foundation, and is not able to finish, all who see it begin to mock him, saying, ‘This man began to build and was not able to finish.’
Luke 14:28–29 NKJV
For which of you, intending to build a tower, does not sit down first and count the cost, whether he has enough to finish it—lest, after he has laid the foundation, and is not able to finish, all who see it begin to mock him,
Luke 14:28–33 NKJV
For which of you, intending to build a tower, does not sit down first and count the cost, whether he has enough to finish it—lest, after he has laid the foundation, and is not able to finish, all who see it begin to mock him, saying, ‘This man began to build and was not able to finish.’ Or what king, going to make war against another king, does not sit down first and consider whether he is able with ten thousand to meet him who comes against him with twenty thousand? Or else, while the other is still a great way off, he sends a delegation and asks conditions of peace. So likewise, whoever of you does not forsake all that he has cannot be My disciple.
It is not of his own doing, but of the power of God
Luke
Luke 14:33 NKJV
So likewise, whoever of you does not forsake all that he has cannot be My disciple.
Jesus said to be a disciple a man must take up his cross daily and follow Him
He is placed inside
The cost must be paid daily
This is a man who has held onto some things of this world and refuses to give them up
He has let Jesus in His heart, but He has not let Him rule his heart
He wants to be a Christian, but not more than the things of this world
That word forsake means: “to willingly give up or set aside”
This doesn’t mean you have to get rid of everything you own and become a monk
What it does mean is you must be willing to let go of whatever He asks of you
A disciple must choose Jesus over family ()
A disciple must choose Jesus over his own will and life ()
He must take up his cross daily ()
This is not a one time thing, but a lifelong endeavor
Everyday there must be a willingness to choose Christ
Everyday there must be the heart that says, “What would you have me to do Jesus”
This is a man who has held onto some things of this world and refuses to give them up
He has let Jesus in His heart, but He has not let Him rule his heart
He wants to be a Christian, but not more than the things of this world
Christ must have preeminence in our lives!
You are no longer your own, but you belong to the Lord
His heart is torn between two things will not survive
He loves the Lord but he loves the world
It would be like having two wives or two husbands
He would hate one and love the other
The things of this world and Jesus Christ
Jesus said, “every Kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself will not stand”
For the seed to pass through this dense layer, Jesus must be the Lord of your life!
His only hope is to let go of the world and cling tight to the Savior
He has Jesus in one hand and the world in the other hand
He wants Christ but he wants the world also
Mark 3:24 NKJV
If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand.
Matthew 12:25 NKJV
But Jesus knew their thoughts, and said to them: “Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself will not stand.
A decision must be made to be saved
Matt 3:24
A half hearted decision is no good
The cost must be considered
Luke 14:28 NKJV
For which of you, intending to build a tower, does not sit down first and count the cost, whether he has enough to finish it
I have had two long drawn out discussions about the gospel recently and both were hung up on this matter.
They could not let go of the world and take hold of Jesus
One led to a superficial profession of faith
The other chose not to accept
Jesus said, a kingdom dividied against itself will not stand
Notice that fruit does appear in this man’s life but it never ripens
It is never able to be plucked
The thorns choked it out and it is never able to be used
the cares
the riches
the pleasures

The fourth layer of heart is the fertile layer

Notice the the first word in verse 8.... “BUT others fell on good ground, sprang up, and yielded a crop a hundredfold”
When the seed reaches this layer something happens
He sowed seeds everywhere
The word but means all the others are the same but this one is different
A crop is produced and the seed has done what it was designed to do
The seed must pass through each layer of the heart before it can save a man
It must
Verse 15: “But the ones that fell on good ground are those who, having heard the word with a noble and good heart, keep it and bear fruit with patience”
Notice the word patience
That word means to take a great deal of punishment from evil people or circumstances without losing ones temper, without becoming irritated or angry
Here is the point: The fruit produced in this man’s life is not dictated by circumstances or this world
His fruit is consistent because it is produced by the Spirit of God whom there is no variation or no shadow of turning
He is able to be gentle when life is not gentle
He is able to show self control when things are chaotic
He is able to love when no love is shown
He is able to have peace in the midst of a storm
He is able to suffer long when the situation looks hopeless
He has joy that can never be taken away
Bearing fruit with patience is riding it out to the end
This heart has overcome all of the previous obstacles is the Christian heart
He must have the seeds to sow
This is the circumcised heart that can truly live for God
It accepts the gospel with joy: This heart knows it is sinful and is willing to repent of it in true repentance
It has overcome the temptation and trials of this world. His faith is in Christ and Christ alone. He clings to the Rock!
It doesn’t mean we wont stumble, but it means we don’t give up and fall away
This heart has one King and that is Jesus: Anything Jesus asks of him he is willing to do because he is no longer in charge
When the gospel seed has made it to the center it bears mature fruit:
What does that look like?
Those who keep the word
Bear fruit with patience
The hard heart rejects the gospel for whatever reason
The shallow heart has no root, he makes a superficial commitment
If you cannot communicate the gospel clearly at the drop of a hat I want to encourage you to practice
Go home and write out your understanding of the gospel
The divided heart has not completely committed to Christ
If you need help it would bring me great joy to help you
The fertile heart, it takes the seed and keeps it, bears fruit that can be called a crop
Make yourself prepared that if someone was to come up to you today, you could explain the gospel clearly
The question we must ask ourselves is what does this fruit look like?
Galatians 5:22–23 NKJV
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.
He sows seeds everywhere
He sowed
We don’t know we are Christians by what we have done, we know we are Christians by what God has done to us
That word means to take a great deal of punishment from evil people or circumstances without losing ones temper, without becoming irritated or angry
When a person gets saved, things begin to change in them
Here is the point: The fruit produced in this man’s life is not dictated by circumstances or this world
His fruit is consistent because it is produced by the Spirit of God whom there is no variation or no shadow of turning
The point is that the seed is causing the fruit
He
They become fruit trees that produce things they never have
The question is whether or not you bear these things
He does not discriminate
They have these characteristics that begin to grow
How does that happen?
: “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from Me you can do nothing”
Do you remember what the fourth layer of the heart is called? The Endocardium
Luke 6:43 NKJV
“For a good tree does not bear bad fruit, nor does a bad tree bear good fruit.
Luke 6:43–45 NKJV
“For a good tree does not bear bad fruit, nor does a bad tree bear good fruit. For every tree is known by its own fruit. For men do not gather figs from thorns, nor do they gather grapes from a bramble bush. A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.
He does not try to judge the hearts of men
This is the only layer that reaches the blood supply
He does not care what kind of heart he is sowing on
When that gospel seed makes it all the way to the blood, it becomes systemic!!
Your life begins to radically change
Your DNA chnages
BE A SOWER:
Your desires change
Your dreams change
Your nature changes
Your destination changes
When the blood of Christ begins to flow through us,
When His blood reaches your blood EVERYTHING CHANGES
Man’s greatest need is the perfect blood
Your nature is changed
Your destination is changed
And sin can only be paid for with blood.
Repentance
Nothing else can pay the price that sin costs
Faith
Let Him be Lord of your life
And His blood will change you forever
The hope of the world is in that blood
Take the gospel and distribute it like Bernie Sanders wants to do with your tax dollars.
Have you been changed by it?
It must be perfect blood
Jesus said, “Whoever desires, let him take of the water of life freely”
And there has only been one channel of perfect blood in the history of mankind and it was Jesus.
You want to be saved, you come!
God sent His Son to be born of a virgin, to live a perfect life and die in our place.
He gave his life so that our sin could be his sin and his righteousness could be our righteousness.
Three days later he walked out of that grave and is now seated at the right hand of the Father
The only hope of mankind is in that blood that Christ shed on the cross
Take the gospel everywhere
When you repent of your sin, and make the choice to live for Christ, his blood reaches the center of your heart
The waitress at the restaurant
If you bear no fruit in your life its because you have never been saved
To your neighbor who doesn’t attend church
If the world owns you instead of the Son its because you have never been saved
If you have never overcome the temptation in your life, its because you don' have the power to
Everyone bow their heads this morning
If you are saved this morning pray for the ones around you who may not be
To the house you drive by everyday and feel the Spirit of God leading you to sow there
Which heart do you have?
Many go through life not even knowing they are not saved, and therefore never get saved
SOW SEEDS
Has the blood of Christ touched the deepest portion of your heart?
If God has opened your heart to this message, THEN LET HIM IN!!
If it has not would you raise your hand?
There may not be another chance
BE THE CHURCH AND GIVE PEOPLE THE GREATEST NEWS IN TH$E WOLRD
If you want to be saved this morning I want to lead you through a prayer.
There may never be another opportunity
Please understand this prayer will not save you, it is your decision to follow Christ that saves you
Every time we reject the Savior our heart hardens a little more
If you prayed that prayer would you come up front and make it public
AS THE SPIRIT CALLS YOU COME
You come up and say brother Jake I wanna get saved!
You come and tell God your a sinner and you need to be saved
God loves to save people
Jesus said, whoever comes to Him, He will by no means cast out
You want to be saved, COME TO JESUS!
Come to the Cross!
