How?

We value the living word.

What is the word to you?

Is it a story of the history of God?

Is the word of completely true?

The Bible is a gift from our Father to his children?

God told Joshua to study the book day and night, only then would you be prosperous.

To understand how valuable this Bible is let me ask you a question. If we did not have the word of God where would we be?

There are many things that can change. We change the songs we sing, we can change the methods on how we reach people, but we cannot change the word. The word stays forever.

The Word of God Progresses

We are constantly understanding the word of God.

There is a revelation that comes from the Holy Spirit that takes studying the word to a whole new realm.

As we meditate on the word of God it becomes a part of us.

So God tells Joshua to meditate on the word. I thought of this word meditate for while, asking myself what does the word meditate mean.

Meditation has become a word that a lot of self-help people encourage others to do in order to be successful.

God must believe that meditating is important as well because He told Joshua that if he did meditate on the word then he to was going to be successful.

So I began to wonder if what God was speaking about regarding meditation and what we call meditation today means the same.

Dictionary.com gives the definition for meditation as think deeply or focus one's mind for a period of time, in silence or with the aid of chanting, for religious or spiritual purposes or as a method of relaxation

think deeply or carefully about (something)

Vines Bible Expository Dictionary says that to meditate is to moan, growl, utter, speak. To think or to imagine.

To be honest the vines Biblical definition really bothered me. How do we moan, or growl.

As I began to put things together I began to see that we meditate on the word of God by speaking or uttering the scripture, by imagining the scripture in our mind, and thinking on each word of the scripture.

BUT DON’T STOP WITH JUST THE SCRIPTURE!

Meditate on the personal words given to you on your life.

Let’s put this all together...

The Bible tells us that all scripture is inspired

So what the scripture is saying is what God is saying to us, even though humans actually put pen to paper.

To meditate on the word of God we gather scriptures then we speak them, we think about them, and we imagine them, We put a picture to them.

If this was what Joshua needed to be successful then I believe this is what we need to do.
