Spiritual Gifts
Discovering and Using Your Spiritual Gifts:
How has God uniquely gifted me for service?
Romans 12:6 Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, let us prophesy in proportion to our faith;
1. Misunderstanding spiritual gifts

1 Corinthians 12:1 Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I do not want you to be ignorant:
Galatians 1:15-16 But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother’s womb and called me through His grace, 16 to reveal His Son in me, that I might preach Him among the Gentiles, I did not immediately confer with flesh and blood,

- This temperament chart is based on general observations, and may not have any real merit.
Spiritual gifts are not the fruit of the Spirit
Galatians 5:22-23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.
Godly attitudes that characterize the lives of only those who belong to God by faith in Christ and possess the Spirit of God. The Spirit produces fruit which consists of 9 characteristics or attitudes that are inextricably linked with each and are commanded of believers throughout the NT. love. One of several words for love, agape, is the love of choice, referring not to an emotional affection, physical attraction, or a familial bond, but to respect, devotion, and affection that leads to willing, self-sacrificial service (John 15:13; Rom. 5:8; 1 John 3:16, 17).[1]

- Spiritual gifts are visible services preformed for others

3. Discovering your spiritual gifts
Recognize that God has gifted you
Romans 12:6 Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, let us prophesy in proportion to our faith;
1 Corinthians 12:11 But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills.
Stir up your gift
2 Timothy 1:6 Therefore I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands.
Practice your gift
1 Corinthians 12:7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all:
· Don’t look for a single gift God has prepared each one of us like a snowflake. You are uniquely you.
1 Peter 4:10 As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.
- Do you wonder what is your gift? The gift will become evident by your exercise of it.
